Where's the socket in fabia to plug a vag-com into?

Featured Replies

I'm about to purchase a vag-com but I can't find the socket inside fabia (vrs) to plug it into...

Any one know where it is?

Lost all power steering this morning and it's triggered the engine management light to stay on.

Steering fine now but it's happened before. I'm putting down to battery for now but want to get rid of that pesky light and find out if any sensors are down..

Any help??

It's behind the drop down cubby/can cooler!

Is that the cubby to the right/below steering wheel?

Certainly is

Thats the fellow!

Open it and feel for the retaining tab, Press this upward while gentle pushing downwards on the cubby, It'll swing down and you'll see the OBD port behind!

Once you pull down the cubbyhole yank it again to reveal the obd port

If you pull the flap down with a little bit of force you expose the diagnosable OBD port

BTW, don't ask what the "on button" does, there is a sticky thread all about it.

Allows chilled air into the cubby box for a drinks can or whatever (cars fitted with AC only).

Have you ever used that storage compartment? I find it very annoying...

I normally use it for sweet wrappers and chuck them away when i get out :)

Sometimes I put my mobile phone in it if I want to leave it in the car for a short time. I find the storage arrangements in the Fabia to be pretty rubbish really. The door pockets are far too narrow to be of much use, for instance.

That one is true i might add fair point the ones in the doors are far too small but i stash my phone either in the middle under the radio or in front of the gearstick there is space providing you don't have a samsung note phone

sat nav fits in there nicely :)
