VRS Estate

Featured Replies

Hi

Recently my trusted old steed a 1990 VW Passat GT Estate failed it's MOT. Reckoned it was not worth pumping anymore money into it. Anyway was looking for a 2 or 3 year old Passat Sport Estate petrol or TDI but could not get over price being asked for high mileage examples. Tried a local trader and he showed me a VRS estate, 2 test drives later I was still grinning. I'm 40 this this year shouldn't I be looking for TDI's? After searching for more info on the VRS I found this great site with loads info, and you convinced me into buying one. I have now ordered a Red 53 VRS Estate with under 10,000 miles, hope to get early next week. By the way I still own an original Ford RS1600I, but it has not seen light of day for over 2 years now.

I can see from postings leather seats have been an issue. I also saw thread where Fabia seat covers were being made, any recommendations for Octavia VRS ones as I would like to protect them?

Hugh

Hi

Thanks for welcome

I just bought this car for a good deal (I hope)

Wife wanted Silver VRS my little 6 year old girl Red, you will see who won.

Dealer is Trans City Car Centre, who I understand is Skoda dealer. Car is Ex-Demonstrator & has been bought unseen apart from pictures. Salesperson Warren advised me exterior & interior unmarked, only mark is on face of one alloy which will be professionaly addressed. There are some out of sight grounding marks on front spoiler but I understand this is common on these and was on other car I test drove. Anyone know dealer or car?. Dealer will arrange delivery Walthamstow to Cardiff via a company they use. It's in the back of my mind though that some youngster (under 40) wil be *******ing it up the M4 at Warp speed 9. So, do I pick it up myself, bearing in mind have to take Bus or train trip?. Oh and I get a service & dog guard thrown in, not that I have a dog but If I brake hard don't want to have a the weekly shopping surgically removed from the back of my head.

Re the seat covers will watch out for those.

Anybody do the stainless Steel sill caps etc for the VRS?

Hugh

Stainless sill trims?

Come standard dont they?

For sheer pleasure and learning process, you MUST go and pick it up.

Specially if you think back to the grin factor the test drive gave you.

AS for being over 40 and buying a VRS , welcome to "the mid life crisis cars"

and Welcome to the site :wavey:
