Audio Installs...(boot)

Featured Replies

Hi guys, im just about to fit the octavia out with some audio and i was just wondering what the best options are as far as boot installs are concerned.

I allready have the sub etc...I just wondered how people have gone about installing false floors and securing the subs to the floor etc....

Any help/pictures would be great. Thanks..

I have a friend designing me a system as we speak. 2 amps will be mounted where the CD changer used to be and coversed flush with the wheel arch and 2 12" subs in a sealed box mounted flush with the back seats so that the faces of the drivers are perfectly vertical, facing backwards. The face of the box is to be painted Black Magic and the box carpeted to match the boot carpet, with a false floor and "cover" to keep things nice and tidy

Will get some pics when it's all in

There's some pics of mine in the link on my signature

i have a jl 12 bungy tied to the seats lol

Im not sure if this is still for sale mate but gives you an idea http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/149898-mk1-skoda-octavia-custom-boot-install/

Worth looking at the links to the other forum to see how this was put together.

I am currently in process of fitting this very install to my Octy. It was obtained without amp/sub unit.

Bear in mind the cost of a DLS A4 amp so I will find cheaper amp to fit. Unit wise the Genesis A30 is down at around £99. So not decided on that yet. FYI Genesis 12Subs are based on the famous Peerless XLS 12" which is used in some of the better Home cinema subs.

Cheers for the great ideas and efford chaps, however im not looking for anything visual eye candy such as MDF installes etc.

Do you guys experience problems with the amp sucking too much power from the battery/altenator? Sometimes i can see my interior lights dimming/pulsing when i have the standard head unit on?

Has anyone tried an all in one such as the infinity basslink?

It depends what power your running :smirk: i got my mits on a yummy polished chrome 150amp alternator B)

Impressive installs rob & Llyod,

Allthough i was just thinking of going down the false floor route with the sub box bolted down to the floor then the floor to the chassis just as ive done with all my previous cars. ITs just a shame about the weight.

I've got a 1400w 12" inphase sub with ported box (really heavy) with a 900W inphase amp

I had a little Alpine one but I wanted more bass. They're supposed to go under the front seats but you can't fit one there in the Octy.

Thanks Rob, Im not after car shaking bass but a little more low end would be good. Did it suffice for that?

It did. But then I installed the sound deadening in the doors and the Focal front speakers and that improved bass a lot more than the little sub.

After that I unplugged the Alpine and you couldn't tell the difference to when it was going!

So basically, sound deadening and decent fronts make a bigger difference and take up less room :)
