04 Octavia Estate TDI PD130

Featured Replies

Up for sale is my trusty steed. I am only selling as I have recently had a shoulder operation so I can not drive untill March/April and when I do get back to work it will hopefully be a 20 mile round trip instead of 100 so I will be getting a petrol auto instead.

Back in July it had a Halfords Calcium battery (4 year warranty), 4 Uniroyal Rainsport 2's (Uber ace tyres), full Hawkeye wheel alignment and a full turbo rebuild as I was worried about failure when I needed it most! I spent this as I had no intensions of selling and I wanted the car to be 110% for when my new business started.

It was last serviced at Awesome GTI on 12/11/2010 and 151499 miles. It also had Pagid front 312mm discs and pads fitted and will come with spare Pagid rear pads.

On a normal work run (Chester to Manchester) with 4 blokes in the car over the week the LOWEST average mpg has been 46mpg but this can rise dramatically when I dont get up late With 184bhp and 343 lbs torque, it really does shift. It will always return at least 530 miles to a tank

It has been sealed it using Zaino about 3 months ago and still looks great now, the water just flows off the paintwork.

It is in very good contition for its age/mileage although as expected from motorway driving there are stonechips on the front end and a few scratches underneath the front bumper altough these cant be seen unless it runs you over The drivers side wing mirror also has a crack in it, it still looks and works fine but I am just being honest.

I have also had a towbar fitted which has been used once. It is a Westfalia and the electrics used are the plug and play type so removal is easy and neat with no cutting of wires etc.

This car really will be missed bud doing such small mileage would be crimial in this, plus I dont want it sitting there for 3 months doing nothing.

It really is a well sorted car and the mileage figures are irrelevant when you see the condition of the car.

Im after £2950 which aint much more than 02 TDI 110's have been selling for.

If the right price is agreed I will put 12 months MOT it too.

Im located in Hooton, Cheshire but for the next few days the car will be down in Braintree, Essex with my sister while her car gets fixed if anyone down that way is interested.

It will come with the reg YX04 WEC and not the one in the pics.

I have probably left someting out so just let me know if you have any questions.

What's a 'pikey Audi TT air vent' cav? :S

  • 2 weeks later...

Cav,

I hope your shoulder gets on the mend soon.

Thats a rather nice looking motor you have there and very tastefully modded B)

  • Author

Cheers Matt, I see your new car is coming on nicely too.

Physio estimates another 8 weeks before its back to normal :(

Also, the car is back up in Hooton, Cheshire now.

I see you've debadged your Octavia too, it took me ages to work out what was different about it. I still have the old girl as my desktop ;)

Its also worth noting that this car was voted into the 2009 Briskoda Calender (Feb) and therefore has some heritage :)

Can vouch for this one - would be a great buy for someone at that money. I know it's probably a cliche but it really, really doesn't look like it's done 150k

Bump for a well looked after, well maintained, nicely modified Skoda B)

All the best with the sale Cav.

Cheers,

Steve

Matt, I never knew it was in the calender. Its only been de-badged and a towbar fitted since your ownership, you did a superb job of modifying it

Steve, looks like your comments worked wonders as someone put a deposit down this afternoon  I await a pm on how you want paying

Just need to go pay a visit to the DVLA to sort the plate out and get it MOT'd, easier said than done with 1 arm in a sling!

(would have added the images in directly however i've just realised I'm not a freedom member anymore)

I really enjoyed my time with it and modifying it and spent an awful lot of time researching what mods should be fitted as I only wanted the best, I'm glad you enjoyed what mods were fitted & I hope it's staying within the Briskoda family

Good stuff mate; any donations gratefully accepted

Car is staying within the Briskoda family :)

Its mainly going to be driven by my wife but is essentially the family car. My wife had a VRS a few years back and really liked it. Even though she is losing the FRV (which she really likes), she is really looking forward to getting this (as am I).

It really is immaculate, you can tell that current and previous owners really looked after her.

Just got to get some different rear seats now, as we need 3x3 point seat belts for the little ones, so I am now speaking to a few breakers yards.

Thanks

Mark

Mark

I bought it to replace my modded mk1 octavia vrs as I needed something more economical, my wife had a fabia vrs at that time so I intended to turn it into a vrs lookalike but decided I prefered the stealth look and the major grin factor of its subtleness.

Sounds like you need to look for a set of Recaro seats, the set I used to have had 3x3 point rear seat belts but swmbo didn't like the seats si I ended up buying those bora seats.

I bought the car around 86k and didn't scrimp on anything, it was a brilliant family car for us and my only real reasons for selling it were to not spend on a hybrid turbo which was the next mod I wanted todo and I didn't want to change the suspension just to tow a caravan.

When I had it it was treated to a full autoglym polish & gloss every year

Hi Matt,

Economy is one of the reasons for getting rid of the FRV as it currently averages 27mpg. That and the fact that our eldest no longer requires a booster, so can sit between the 2 little ones.

Love the look of the car and it really does go well. I was contemplating getting a trailer so I could tow my RX7 to the track but I think the overall weight will be just over the limit for the car (need to look into this more as I have never towed anything).

With regards to the seats I really need to just get anthing that has 3 pointers in. What were the Recaros from anyway? Have found a few cars breaking reasonably close to home so will see what I can get. One VRS nearby which is tempting for the back as they stay a lot cleaner than cloth with 3 little ones, but i think they would look a little odd.

Will have to keep looking around.

I would really like a Fabia VRS for my commute but I think it might be slightly less economical than my current Yaris (averages 62mpg) and it will cost slightly more to buy. Maybe one day.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Guys

I will be the new owner of this car! Mark dear, you are not stealing it at the weekends to tow your banger! ;)

I am sad to be getting rid of my FRV but I am really looking forward to getting the Octavia. Loved my VRS despite the coil packs going before I got to drive it a full mile! lol!

Looks like its been well loved and looked after :)

Just hope the DVLA hurry up and get the plates changed!

Vicki

Mark,

The Recaro seats I had were bought out of a 3rd mk4 golf, both the 3dr and 5dr will fit, personally I liked the 3dr seats as it made it easier to clean under the front seats as you can tip them forward :giggle:

Recaro Pics Here The middle seatbelt is tucked over the top and into the boot, I only have 2 kids so never needed the centre belt.

Vicki,

I hope you will enjoy the car, it has been well looked after and maintained by myself and Cav and I hope it will give you many happy miles to come. I too loved my vrs when I had it but soon converted to the dark side with this octavia, the ooompph it has when on the move is ace and far better than my old vrs

Sounds like you will have your work cutout keeping Mark from using it on weekends :giggle:

Wishing you both the very best with the car

Vicki,

You will be glad to know I went to the DVLA office today and sorted the plate out, they said I will get the documents in 5-7 days then I just need to MOT with the new plate for you.

Im positive the car will serve you well, if you drive it carefully you will see double the mpg of the FRV B), I'll keep any eye out for some rear seats for you, at least it gives me something to do while im off work.

I take it your Yaris is a diesel? I'll be sharing the girlfriends car for a while once my shoulders better but it only averages 36mpg (T-Sport)

I'll keep any eye out for some rear seats for you, at least it gives me something to do while im off work.

You dont by any chance fancy a 28mm Neuspeed RARB for it, got one sittin in the garage

Hi Cav,

Yep, the Yaris is a diesel. Thanks for looking out for seats. May have found a set of recaros for it, just waiting for email from the seller.

Probably have to pass on arb, as we probably don't need it, and will hit max budget with seats. Thanks anyway

Mark

Thanks for the messages guys!

I'm sure I will enjoy the new car.

Thanks for the offer of the Anti-roll bar Cav but my throwing cars around days are over with 3 kids so I really don't think I'll need it. :)

Mark managed to win a set of recaros on Ebay last night so we are all sorted

Cheers

Vicki

Good to hear about the sale Cav. And nice to see it's staying on here too

Best of luck with it

 Nice one..

When fitting the front seats remember to disconnect the battery before you disconnect the airbag wires under the seats.
