Skoda UK E-MAIL..?

Featured Replies

Can anyone please forward the SKODA UK technical query phone number..or e-mail address ?

My manual states that details for what size winter tires & wheels are recommended can be found elsewhere in my car users manual......?

I cannot find such info in my literature; furthermore, most EU cold weather car manufacturer's recommend smaller wheels and I'd like to get it right 1st

time.

Are there any Czech or German owners out there who can offer advice please?

Shopping in Koln & Aachen days prior to Xmas I saw numerous similar cars...all driving in the opposite direction, which didn't help much...I even followed one driver into motorway services...but he drove straight out & back onto the autobahn without stopping!

All appeared to have smaller wheels on each corner...

Thanks,

TDM

Good luck; response times aren't always the best. You might get quicker resolution through a good local dealer.

I emailed them recently and received a telephone call within 2 hours :)

Edit - sorry, I read it as the UK customer service, rather than technical. I'll just go and stand in the corner

CS are hopeless, I have called multiple times and been told they will call be back, they never have. quite useless

All I need is a Skoda headed note informing the dimwits at the DVLA of my emmisions. They have the figure for a non-DPF car, even though it's got one. Skoda UK can't be bothered to do this, it would take them about 10mins.

We had your money, that's all we care about

The dealer I got the car from have not been interested either, I've contacted them about it 5 times now and nothing. They not getting my car for servicing, that's for sure

Can you not email them a copy of the page out of the brochure showing carbon emissions? .......or won't they accept that?

Must be SKODA headed letter, they messed up and I got all the hassle.

I doubt if Skoda will be all that interested, your dealer sends in the details to DVLA so Skoda they will pass it back to you and the dealer to sort out. DVLA do make mistakes so do dealers, you would appear to be in a catch 22 position, but one that has to be sorted. Your dealer should have a copy of the forms sent to DVLA.

Vielen dank fűr Ihre hilfe!

However, my technical German is not that good...

You can help, if you wish......by checking what they recommend for my 2009 2.0 TDI CR 4x4 170bhp 6spd DPF,(Motor I.D QG1)

which is running on 7.5J x 18" 225/40 R18 92V from new.

Kind regards, Glűckliches Neues Jahr!

TDM.

My German is a bit rusty, but here goes...

According to p10, you have an engine CBBB or CFGB

In particular the CBBB engine appears on a number of pages, I think it's because there is a different page for each production run - it's using codes that are linked to German registration certificates. However, the tyre sizes appear to be constant.

You are specifically looking for the M+S designation for winter tyres.

According to p 204 onwards, the winter tyre is a 205/55/16 94H M+S on a 6J x 16 H2 50ET wheel.

From p 205, a 17" option is also included for that engine code of 205/50/17 93H M+S on a 6J x 17 H2 45ET wheel.

I guess it depends what wheels you can get. The 16" winter tyres will probably be cheaper.

Hope this helps

Kevin
