fabia vRS ordered

Featured Replies

So i went ahead yesterday and ordered my new motor.

Fabia vRS, Candy white, Cruise, Parking sensors, black alloys.

It will be modified though. Coming from a fully modded stage 2+ Octavia vRS TFSI, the fabia does seem pretty under whelming.

First mod will be a Rear ARB. From what i gather from the SCN forum the mk2 vRS/Cupra etc use the same ARBS as the previosu chassis mk4 seat ibiza's etc. I guess this the correct one 20mm wHITELINE ARB and more importantly is this going to be a worthy increase in stiffness. Obviously it was fine for the mk4 ibiza, but the newer cars could well have a beefier ARB as standard? Maybe try out jabba sport instead, quite a bit more substantial than the whiteline 23mm JABBA ARB need to confirm fitments first

It'll end up with fully swapped suspension after the first service, but ill be chucking on the skoda approved eibachs springs initially, just to get rid of the'on stilts' effect.

then a remap. Going to chisel out the precat as i posted in the other thread. then probably the ITG intake and a stage 1 remap to start off. Guess it'll be more of a stage 1+ with the precat removed.

This should do me for the time being until all the teething issues are sorted with mapping, and there have been plenty of guinea pigs for stage 2 etc.

I think theres quite a bit of potential in these cars

Is it a Skoda dealer putting them on for you?

Janner, sounds like a nice spec'd car,

May i ask what Kent based dealer did you use ( if you did ) What is happening to your Oct'y?

Is it a Skoda dealer putting them on for you?

yes it is i shopped around and got the best price ,

Looking forward to seeing the pics when you get your vRS.

Good job.

Whats the ETA on the car ?

Whiteline also do a 23mm ARB. I'm running it on the middle setting on my Cupra, seems to have just the right amount of give, not twitchy at all.

Good stuff, glad you got sorted. Looks a decent spec.

Like your proposed mod list too. I'd go for the Jabba bar, but didn't know Whiteline now offered a 23mm. Still think the build quality on the Jabba one is better, but depends on the price difference really.

Poke to REVo and JKm today. From what i gather they dont think they can remap via the OVDII port due to the encryption. this means the only method of remapping is to remove the ECU open it and then map it this way. however i reckon the dealership would be able to see this right away, and in all honesty im quiteput off by that. might leave the map for the first year and service, just to ensure there are no engine niggles

Congrats, keep us posted on the build week/delivery, hopefully they start coming through faster....

Build week 14. 04 april -10 April.

Then 4-5 weeks for delivery :o

Yep, the ECU in these will still require the 'bench' method.

Probably best to run it std for a bit anyway, let it run in - and then when you do get it done, you'll appreciate the extra poke even more B)

REVO do a remap for the Ibiza Cupra. How come they can't also remap the vRS when it is exactly the same engine?

Revo do offer a map for the Fabia Mk2 vRS! As you say, it's the same unit as in the Cupra.

But as mentioned, because of the ECU encryption, it can't be done via the OBD port. Yet.

Had a feeling it was something like this to blame as the map for the Mk2 vRS was not listed on the Revo website last time I checked :'( .

Bit odd that the cupra can be remapped through its OBDII yet the fabia can't (unless Revo just haven't got round to breaking the code yet). Any ideas how/why the vRS is encrypted differently?!

they think they will be encrypted. some are and some aren't. the tuners do not know until they try themselves whether it will be encrypted. REVO HQ advise all their vendors to try OBD first and then if that fails remove the ECU

Nice spec!

I test drove one really nice to drive and good power delivery.......however I went for the Octavia instead.

Make sure you get some pics up as soon as you get it mate

was very smooth, but compared to the previous motor its lacking in the midrange big style. My aim is about 220-240hp. that and the low weight and DSG should make it a right little track toy.

I buy a car for its potential lol. Plus i always prefer the underdog :giggle:

I emailed the dealer today and added some more options to the spec i initially asked for

now it should be

candy white

Black roof

black alloys

MFSW

Heated seats

rear parking sensors

cruise control

habe promised the missus i wont add anything else on, but keep looking at the climate control....

The climate control panel looks much nicer than the boggo plastic heater controls, this wont help you will it?!

Had the climate control in the octavia vRS, but since selling up i havent missed it in the wifes peugeot at all. That just has air con and heaters. If its cold i use the heaters, if its hot i use the air con or open the windows, so im not hugeky bothered. Anyone have pics of the dash with the air con so i can compare it to the dash with the climate control

Did they not give you a brochure? There's a nice pic in there of the climate control.

I feel the same about the climate control - could take it or leave it, but decided to get it in the end because the manual controls don't suit the look of the rest of the car.

That and the Mrs. decided for me.. so... tough decision!

Go for the climate, you know it makes sense !
