octavia vrs problems please help

I'm new to the site and hoping someone can help me with the issues im having. the car is a octavia vrs 2002 iv only had the car for 2 months fixed some stuff all ready but the main issue is fuel econmony im getting about 250miles to the tank with i read is bad also the code iv had come up twice is cat below freshold i think I also think i have a problem with the car heating up when i drive it take a while to get to 90 but if i floor the car the temp drops is this normal ive change the temp sensor which seemed to make it abit beta but not sure could there be any-think else please help thank you

Afraid it's a bit difficult to help when your post is difficult to understand. Full stops would help!

If the temp drops then it could be your thermostat sticking open

I get about 250 miles out of 40 litres? Is that considered to be bad fuel economy then?

The OP's numbers give around 25 miles to the gallon, which I've found is about right if you spend a lot of the time stuck in traffic and driving around town. I'd say Raf-75 is spot-on concerning the thermostat, and I presume the other codes relate to the lambda sensor. Both of these issues could be causing the car to overfuel. I've found that the VRS tends to be far less economical in very cold weather, so that might also be adding to your problems.
