Xenons wash unit...

Featured Replies

Hi.

I have an 07 Fabia vRS. It came with factory fitted Xenons. I've read that as a legal requirement, cars fitted with xenons must also have automatic height adjusters and a wash system.

I know mine definitely has the height sensor, but it doesn't have the wash system. Is this something Skoda missed out while building the car?

Thanks,

J

It should have one. Assuming there isn't an option inside the car to change the angle of the lights, only the brightness of the internal dash lighting? If if's changable inside, I'd guess they were fitted after production.

Does the car have a 2l, or 5l washer fluid bottle? Cars which had the washers should have 5l. Could be possible it was in a crash and repaired cheaply? Can you hear it make an extra noise every few washes of the windscreen when the lights are on? I know mine does this when the washers fire up, but not normally.

Yep, only option inside the car is to change the brightness of the dash lights.

The car has a 2L bottle, I think, I'll double check that in the morning. It's never been in an accident, as my bro bought it new and I bought it off him.

Can't say I've heard it make a noise no.

Thanks for your reply.

Has yours got the jets under your lights like mine (look under my lights)

There should be washers that are built in behind the bumper, I believe they don't work every time like washing the windscreen though.

There will be a plug/flap type thing on the bumper just underneath each headlight, the wash jet pops up from there.

Hummmmm, I was under the impression you couldn't spec options like that on SE's because they were already made

Not all '07's are SE's. This one is black. I'd say the front bumper has been replaced at some point.

Bugger, I thought it was a SE, teach me for not waking up before I post

So it does! (Nice shine btw!) If it is a 2l bottle, I'd guess maybe that it's not all rigged up properly. If it's a 5l, maybe it's the fuse? Was a topic about it a while ago, can't remember which one it was though, sorry.

Slight update...

I had a good look at the washers that pop up from the bumper. When I pulled them up some water appeared from the washer. So I'm guessing the washer is not blocked. Also checked and fuse 64 is fitted. I'm going to call to the dealer in the morning and get a replacement. Hopefully it's just a case of the fuse has blown.

Thanks for the replies.

Fixed!!! The problem was the fuse had blown. Replaced the fuse and it's all sorted.

Thanks for the help.
