the engines, chassis, gearboxes are all identical. the biggest three difference ive found is interiors, suspension and dealerships. Seat are notoriously the worst of the whole VAG range for dealerships. With skoda being rated the top of the VAgs for dealership service.

Seat interiors are really poor and drab.

Take the octavia vRS

then compare it to the Leon Cupra

Really plasticy (if thats a word) qand generally not a noce place to be. shame as its a really good looking car.

The other thing with seat is VAG see them as the sporty brand. Most of their performance branded cars are aimed at the younger aged guys, and they stiffen all the springsto give the effect of sporty handling. All it does is make the cars crashy compared to VW, Skoda and Audi. I know quite alot of guys who after fitting performance coilovers have said its actually comfier than the stock setup.

I think the insurance groups on them are a little higher iirc.

I would have said that a few years ago Seat was ahead of Skoda, but not these days.

All the same group but would agree Seat are aiming there cars at younger guys and gals. The have a lot of models that look really sporting but actually are just dressed up 1.2's and 1.4s.

Go with Skoda !

I would agree that Skoda didnt intend the Fabia to look sporty and boy did they succeed. I much prefer the Ibiza FR 2.0 tdi to the Fabia vrs - It has power and is more economical, around 30mpg doesnt really appeal.
