hi there, can anyone give me some guidence, i own an 08 plate octavia 1.9 tdi and the seat belt warning light and buzzer keeps flashing on and off while im driving, even with the belt fastened, i have had the car from new and the passenger side alarm etc was switched off by the dealer as its used as a taxi,

can the drivers side be turned off too, or any ideas how to resovle the problem, it does stop temporary when you move the buckle but only for a few seconds.

please help the noise drives me mad

Sounds like the switch in the buckle is broken, think the only way of fixing it is a new buckle could be wrong tho

There are two ways of doing this, the first is the quick and easy way, raise the seat as high as it will go then trace the plug and wires going to the seatbelt buckle and unplug the wires(there should be two thin wires going to it - I have not done this on a MKII OCtavia so not 100% sure where exactly the plug will be, but on an Golf, A6, MKI Octavia and MKI Superb it is at the base of the seatbelt buckle).

The second way is a bit more professional but will require VCDS to turn the light off.
