Skoda Steel Wheel pics and info anyone ?

Featured Replies

Going to order a set of steel wheels for my Scout with £100 vouchers I recieved from my Service deal.

May not put the tyres on this winter now but will be ready for next.

Couple of questions then. How much are they for a set ?

Do I need different wheel nuts and how much, where can I get them from ?

Has anyone sprayed their wheels silver ?

When I was a kid all my Dads cars had silver steel wheels and they looked pretty smart. When they started to look a bit shoddy he just resprayed them.

You can use bolts from Alloy wheels on steel rims but NOT the other way round

Dealer price for rims for my vRS was around £58 each or £230+ for a set ( prior to the VAT hike and the high demand due to Snow) so I ended up getting 4 2nd Hand Audi Alloys for £150 and saved some £££s

I got a set of 16x6J VW transporter wheels off ebay in silver - they are exactly the same size, pcd (5 x 112) and ofset (ET50) as the winter wheels supplied by Skoda as far as I know - got them for £130 delivered and they were virtually new (delivery miles I think).

Put Conti WinterContact 205x55x16H tyres on them (local Kwik Fit) - they fit the VRS perfectly and are pretty good in the bad weather.

Cheers

Dave

I left mine black-they are from a 2007 Leon, bought on eBay. Glad I went for steels-even with winter tyres on I still managed to (lightly) curb one wheel. The handbrake may have been up though.....

I would have been raging if it was an alloy. Mind you, I may not have been pratting around with alloys on :giggle: .....

BTW the chrome door handles have gone :smirk:

Very red, I have similar wheels but no hub caps? Just curious where you got them?

From a VW Transporter-eBay. I think the Caddy ones fit better. Mine required a little 'modification' to fit-ended up leaving standard wheel bolt caps on then pushing centre cap on over them. Not a perfect fit, but they've stayed on for 2000 miles so far & up to 120mph (at an unspecified location in Europe somewhere.....................) :)

Skoda decals are off t'Bay too!

There are a few threads on this. I've listed where to get the badges from in them too so have a look here:

And another alternative centre cap:

I also saved this in my email from somewhere on this forum which will also help a lot I hope (I can't remember who posted it sorry):

Skoda supply a steel wheel for Winter Tyres, this is a 16x6.0J Part No. 8PO 060102703C. I was not aware of this and thought I was just getting regularly supplied wheels. Presumably they do this to allow narrower section tyres to be fitted? These are out of stock until mid- December which is why I have been waiting 1 month already.

The full size spare in my Scout is 16 x 6.5J. Part No. 1Z0 601011A. This has a different part no. as it is an accessory rather than a spare part and comes with the tyre fitted and the tool kit.

There is a separate part no. for exactly the same wheel as a spare, or in my case for use as a Winter wheel. This is 1K 0601027A03C. There are plenty of these in stock so I have ordered some. As I mentioned I already have 205/55/R16 Winter tyres that were on the 6.5J x 16 alloys on my MkI Octavia so I know the fit will be fine.

All have the same ET50 offset.

I got wheels and tyres from mytyres last year. I had cheap trims on them last winter but this time I'm just leaving them plain. When I ordered the wheels I was told they would be silver but as you can see they are black! IMG_8907_2
