fuel lines

Featured Replies

evening all,

i decided to invest in some of those fuel saving magnets for my fabia, yes i know most of you will shoot me down about them, but i seen 4mpg increase on my previous car so i thought what the heck, especially the way fuel prices are going atm.

just before puting them on the car tho i just want to make sure im puting them in the correct place, the magnets have to after the fuel filter, i know where the fuel filter is and that it has four pipes coming from it, are two of these pipes coming from the tank? and two feeding the engine? if so, which two? basically where all should i place the magnets, from the pic you can see the pipes coming from the filter onto the silver metal pipes, are these feeding the engine? should i put some on them?

i would just like to know the path of fuel from the filter to the engine so i can place my magnets accordingly :)

many thanks

Got a bigger pic? ;) basically those two hoses coming out the cylindrical thing in the bottom left are fuel hoses. That round thing is the fuel filter :)

yeh, are the other two coming from the tank? so the two taped together are the fuel hoses? then they attach to the silver piping? but theres other hoses joined to the other end of them, sorry i dont have a better one i just got it off ebay, ill have a look :)

how relevant are these? DSC00372.jpg

Only one is a supply, the other is a return.

The return line has the T piece valve in it (this recycles warm fuel from the engine into the fuel filter in cold weather to stop waxing) so your looking at the other line.

Ive heard a bit about these magnets but to be honest i think its b*ll*cks...When i was doing my time on John Deeres we dyno'd a tractor that had these fitted and apparantly had made it 100hp more than it should of been but i think somebody had been tweaking it and it didnt last long before knocking the crank out

what about the metal pipes along the front of the engine?

can you show me a pic of the pipe in question please?

considering they are fuel saving magnets and not for power they would not have been the cause of the extra bhp lol

techie can you confirm which pipe is the feed pipe please :) if its one or two, so if i place magnets along the hose onto the metal pipe and onto the small bit of pipe at the other end this would cover the most amount of hose possible?

On that picture pipe two is the feed, as I said the t piece is on the the return.
