Silver Spray Pain

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Wonder if anyone can help, some lovely person decided to break off my light washer jet cover. I have now replaced it but Skoda would not sell me a can of Silver Spray Paint to re-spray it and wouldn't tell me a cost from the parts department.

Halfords don't have it and have said they can make it for £13:00 which is a bit expensive and Ebay lets not even start.

Does anyone know where I can get some ordered off the tinternet???

Thanks

The paint code for your car should be on a sticker on the floor under the boot carpet. Get it & take it to a motor factor who should be able to mix it for you. Can't guarantee it'll be cheaper than Halfrauds though!

Or this might help. Not a spray though...

VW Diamiond Silver is a pretty good match. For the intended use you can't really go far wrong with that. If it was a wing or a bumper then a proper mix would be better. The cover is small enough not to notice.

How old is your skoda?

If it's pre FL, then it will be diamond silver, and you certainly can buy a spray can from skoda.

If they still refuse, then pop up your local body shop and see if they will spray it for a small amount of cash.

Just order from Paints 4 U.

You will need your paint code.

Do you know the name of the colour? Probably Diamond Silver Metallic (part # HFB381037)?

There's a list of paints for Octavia's, together with the part code here (all are £11):

I'd try again giving them the part number. If you have a local TPS, you could try them.

I use for VW Diamond Silver from Halfords for all sorts of things - it is ideal for Skoda alloys etc. It seems good quality too.

The halfords diamond silver doesn't quite match IMHO as I tried one of their touch up kits.

I've got one of a similar age and I'd just go to the dealer and insist they sell you the paint or find your local TPS. You can get it and you can even get some plastic parts painted from the factory now.
