Mirror Down Function

Featured Replies

My Superb Estate Elegance has the Mirror Down function that tilts the passenger door mirror downwards when you engage reverse gear. However, I can't seem to get it to work. I have the tick box checked in the Convenience menu on the MFD. Do I need to position the mirror in some way?

Any suggestions?

You need to have the mirror switch pointing to the mirror that you want to drop, I think

That seems to work - the book said 'R' which fooled me. Can you still set the position of the mirror in its down position, or is it a predetermined position? Also, do you have to turn back to mirror heating if you want that to work?

The manual is for LHD cars.

Yes, put the car in reverse, mirror switch to "L" and adjust the mirror. That sets the position.

As far as going back to heated, then yes, I believe you have to move the mirror switch back.

The heated mirror switch is a PITA, as you have to move the knob 2 clicks. I don't know why Skoda done it this way as having the mirrors work off the heated rear screen switch is perfectly adequate?

emoticon-0148-yes.gif 100% agree with this. On my Audi they came on with the rear demister and switched themselve off after a while. They lasted 110,000 miles. On my Yeti I suspect they won't nearly last that long as I tend to forget they are on until I reverse somewhere and realise the switch is not in L but in heating mode. Doh. Really stupid change this one.

I agree too, although the Passat is the same.

If VAG must have H/mirrors it on it own switch, then they should designed made the mirror switch with a "push" down to switch the heaters on and a 10min timer on it.

A minor niggle of an otherwise great car.
