Is there an all season tyre that fits the vrs?

Featured Replies

I've searched for ages on the internet to find a top quality 'All Season' 205/45/16" tyre. Is there one anyone has come across that has that size? It seems to be the '45' that is the problem.

Thanks

All-season tyres in that size are pretty impossible to find for some reason, but have you considered using winter-tyres all year?

Winter tyres take longer to stop on dry roads, but the difference is not as great as ordinary tyres take to stop on wet/ icy/ freezing roads.

I'm guessing with repect to size availability, but Goodyear Excellance are available in "new" sizes - my daughter has them on her Ibiza SC and its only recently that I found out that they are "all weather" - that might explain why she has not had the probelms that I had expected her to have in this crap weather over the past six weeks!

Hum, I've just looked on MYTYRES and all the tyres in that size are SUMMER - I'd reckon that from what a few people I know have been saying, that as most of the winter tyre have been sold, the all weather tyres are now being getting sold a lot!

Though when I was looking yesterday, they did not seem to come up as 'all season' tyres. i.e. lists of all season did not include them.

Cheers, but after reading reviews of winter tyres on dry, summer roads, I'm a bit put off.

Yes, that is what I found. Thanks for looking.

I don't think I've ever seen MyTyres stock all-season tyres for the vRS. They either sell summer or winter tyres in 205/45 16 size.

If that size is what is on the Ibiza SC with the optional factory fit 16" wheels, then mytyres were the only place that she could get a replacement tyre about six months ago - no high street or local BIT places or other online places listed Goodyear Excellance as it was not yet being made available in UK - all other similarly aged Ibiza SC that I have seen with these tyres as factory fit tend to have a "cheapy" as a replacement after probably getting a screw/nail too close to the edge - seems its a "popular" problem with these wide tyres!
