It's that time of year to get the roof down!

Featured Replies

Seem to be enjoying the Cabrio's of late, love these Audi's great classy and elegant shape, looks good with the roof up or down in my opinion:

Hopefully that's the last of all the cold weather.........

A cabrio just can't be diesel powered in my opinion, kinda ruins the whole 'top down, wind in your hair' feeling, but apart from that

Fair comment that one Steve, it's the 3.0 TDI as well, which while being fairly 'punchy' isn't the quietest engine in the range...........

Oi dont be critisising the 3.0TDi ;) lol the new 3.0TDI is pretty quiet and un diesel like on the move ;)

just had a look thru the detail, nice work mate :) nice car too, i actually like them :) not sure of wheel choice but nice car

Yet again most excellent work

No offence intended there I think Kenny, just it's acceptable now in today's market to have a diesel engine in a cabrio, things have changed hey..........

I guess the wheel colour is a 'marmite' mod, for me they would have to be at least an inch bigger............

yeah i was going to say that about the wheels, to be honest i think its more the size that puts me off.

as for the TDI, to be honest i couldnt agree more with cabrio front, with a miltek on hard acceleration does sound more 'V' like. but petrol engines should be in cabrio and sports coupes :o:rofl:

even when i picked mine it was between the S5 and 3.0TDI but with fuel prices only going one way the S5 just didnt make sense unless money was no object :(

always good to look thru your details mate

You both should know by now that I have no issue with diesel power :D

Like the 3.0TDI, just not in a drop top. A diesel doesn't complete the experience for me B)

Was going to mention the wheels too, but didn't want to sound too negative ;) - I personally think the colour doesn't suit the colour of the car, and that the shade hides their size, so they end up looking quite small. Not really a fan of the spoke design either, probably because they seem to appear on loads of stuff now, both genuine and reps.

A nice set of CHs in hi-power silver for me I think, with a 2.0T under the hood :p

Glad you like reading them Kenny and I will send you a PM shortly reference your A5, something that I am looking into at the moment with the Audi range.........

Agreed, it's nice to focus on the detail on DW and in here but I don't think comment's like this aren't acceptable, we all have our opinions and thats what forums are about, completely agree with you on the RS4 wheel design, it's old school and everyone has them, having said that I do know a few people with CH's as well...................... :S

If someone gave me that car however I would snap their hand off............ B)

Yep, absolutely. Just don't want to take away from your efforts as it came up really well

I probably don't tend to make those sorts of comments in Detailing threads as it's not the owner putting details of his car up. It's here for us to appreciate the before & after effect, and the work and processes that's gone into making that happen. (IMHO)

Wheel choice - yeah, CHs aren't as rare as they used to be - true! I'm sure I could come up with a better choice though ;)

But yes, I really like the A4 cab - best option for a usable 4-seater convertible really.

Oh yeah, and good work on the detail :p

Cheers,

Steve

Cheers Steve and I am sure both of us can come up with some more expensive wheel options................ :p

I will go with some 19" BBS LM's in a matching bodywork colour centre section with polished lips and some polished bolts, oh and of course deck it............. B)

Good work as ever, has the nearside rear been kerbed as well . Too much the same colour as above a lighter colour would appear larger

Both rear wheels have marks on them so yes...................both front wheels were refurbed................

Quite partial to this model myself - with that particular engine too. Id prefer larger rims in silver though.

Nice job though Simon. Would have been nice with some roof down shots too and interior. B)

Cheers,

Ste.

Thanks Ste, no interior work on this one so left the hood in situ for most of the detail and it wasn't the cleanest inside.................. :S
