Test drive of Fabia VRS Estate

Featured Replies

I am based in Leicester and i would like to test drive a new Fabia VRS estate with a view to maybe getting one while this offer is on. If any of you kind people know your local dealer has an estate vrs onsite available for test drive i would much appreciate the heads up rather than having to do a lengthy ring round.

I could get a test drive from the local garage in a hatch but i would rather drive exactly what i am in the market for. I realise im probably going to have to do a few miles to get there but thats what weekends are for isn't it ?

Thanks in advance

Im in the same boat mate, I would love to see a VRS Estate in the flesh before I order one as Im not too keen on the looks of either the hatch or the estate. Let us know if you locate one, I think it would be worth a lenghty road trip.

I know my dealer has a race blue vRS estate with dark chrome wheels in the showroom but not sure if it's a demonstrator, might be worth a call?

It's D.M. Keith Skoda in Wakefield, West Yorkshire and the number is 01924 273 069. The salesman I dealt with is a man called Ian - just tell him it's Tim who pointed you in his direction. I'm just about to take delivery next week of a hatchback vRS in white with black roof and black wheels. If I was ordering the estate I'd still have it in white with black wheels, it just looks the business

I agree - you need to see one on the flesh before you commit..... My race blue hatch with white roof and dark chrome alloys looks the business from most angles...... except the front! 3/4, side, rear all are good.......

I bought mine without even driving one as the reviews gave me the confidence that it was the sort of car I was looking for - feels like an electric car in traffic (perfect for my tedious 25 mile M60 commute!) but feels playful when you want it to (not run in yet - 40 miles to go!! :o)

I traded my Octavia Vrs estate in for the hatch as I too am not sure about the looks of the estate - not seen one on the road as yet so the jury is still out. Im sure you will love driving it and I love the MDI feature too - I have most of my 25 year CD collection playing through it now too!

Ok so i have spoken to 6 reasonably local dealers so far, none of whom can help. No response from Skoda Uk as of yet.

I did read somewhere that Skoda are only expecting to shift 150 Vrs Estates a year so maybe that explains a few things. Hortons of Lincoln did seem to say the Hatch was flying out but virtually no interest in the estate at all. Nothing for it but to keep trying i guess.

To the guys that have bought estates...did you test drive the hatch and if so do you think there is a increase in road noise in the cabin on the estate ?

Regards

P

I prefere the looks of the estate to the hatch to be honest :)

Had a test drive in a race blue vrs estate yesterday. It feels just like the hatch but obviously more boot space. It drove really well but doesnt feel as exciting as the mk. 1 did., probably because the power is very smooth through the dsg. As far as the looks go I think it would be better with side protection strips to break up the slab sided appearance but I don't think they're an option in the brochure. I would like to know the mpg in sport mode because you dont really buy these to potter about in and the economy or lack of it is a concern. I think I would have preferred Skoda to have developed a fabia vrs to be launched as soon as the mk3 is available rather than on a design that's 4 years old.

Hi Dibujo

Are you UK based ? If so can you tell me which dealership you managed to get a test drive at ?

So glad I went for the Ibiza rather than wait for the Fabia, still cant get used to the looks of it when you compare to this...

best car ive ever had and having to sell it is a killer.

i considered the Ibiza, but the wife said id look like a chav lol. Fair point really. its definitely aimed at the younger drivers

Maybe I was trying to recapture my youth? Wouldn't say the Fabia with options like a different coloured roof and black alloys etc is exactly aimed at an older group.

thats why the roofs staying white on mine lol :p in fairness i actualy like the cupra. She was the deciding factor in saying no tbh.

similar thing happened when i almost bought an impreza WR1, and she sais she'd be embarrassed driving it lol

Your dealer in Leicester is showing a race blue vrs estate on the approved used system.

might help.

Where are you based? Fill in some profile info :)

Might be worth following up the dealer detailed here:

Great Yarmouth it would seem? No idea how far this is from you though, obviously ;)

If so that would generally mean this dealer has a vRS Estate demo:
