I-Phone 4 or HTC desire?

Featured Replies

One thing that I do like the look of on the HD is HTC Sense, with the ability to remote lock if your phone is stolen etc.

Didnt know you could do that

Just like the iPhone's "MobileMe" then.

I would go for the HTC anyday I think the I Phone is over priced and the stuff HTC are in the process of developing will prob make HTC overtake Nokia as the market leader in mobile phone manufacturing.

HTC just seem to have the "desirability" in a very competitive market.

Except you have to pay for MobileMe....

Nope (on iPhone4 at least, not sure on older models)

Yeh. Access to the HTC sense services are totally free with the ability to ring the phone when you can't find it (even if it's on silent), lock it if lost/stolen and wipe it.

I am a long time user of Neophyte's ROM's having never had a major issue with them, this is the latest http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=791315 but there is an updated version next week that fixes the 720p recording problem on the video camera.

Right then fluffy, as Neo has recently updated his ROM to 1.6.1, have you taken the plunge and installed it? If so, what's your verdict?

As fluffy didn't reply and there's been another ROM update, I thought I'd better give it a go and see for myself.

It seems that some of the apps (that were standard) need to be downloaded from the market but the HTCSense works okay - not tried the full delete yet though as that's a bit drastic!

The other apps that were already on the phone just get integrated as you'd expect. The UI is obviously different so I'll have to keep 'testing' to see what the differences are with this compared to my previous Leedroid ROM.

Well my limited testing meant I reflashed Leedroid! :S

It seemed that the phone was consuming electricity faster than Drax could output it and it expired after about 7-8 hours. However after charging and turning it back on, there were no icons on the main screens! A straightforward (non HD) flash didn't bring them back so it was a complete wipe followed by the reflash.

Maybe I should also have done this before trying the HD ROM but as I'd wiped the Dalvik cache etc I didn't think I'd need to.

Isn't testing fun.

Not as good as when I tried an early custom rom on my Galaxy.

It lasted about 3 hours, and nearly burnt my leg it got that hot!

Ooops, sorry lost track of the thread, I have not tried the update yet but will maybe do It tomorrow and report back. :)

The iphone 5 will most likely be released around june/july time so will be interesting to see what new features it will have, hopefully not the signal problem like the current 4

Yes you do, but I think the find my iPhone is now free, where as before that was only available through MobileMe iirc.

Well I have it installed on my iPhone4 and it stated it was completely free, only used it the once to check it was working but I had a e-mail (IIRC) telling me there was no charge.

Steve will sneak round your house one night and do a huge vegan fart in your face whilst you are asleep then :)

Have you got the full MobileMe installation, which is free for 60 days, or just the find my iPhone mullarkey which I believe is now free?

Not 100% sure if it is the full version or not, had it since October and it still tracks the phone (just checked it again) maybe they were offering it free for a whilst??

I think you are talking about the now free iPhone tracker, which used to be part of MobileMe mate, MobileMe in it's full form is Apples MSN / Hotmail equivalent. Apart from the pretty good 12 days of christmas deal, I have never known Apple give anything away ;)
