Thought I should add my 2 pence to this thread as my the pick up pipe in my car was replaced today.

Mine is on just shy of 98k miles, I've done 25k and this is the fourth service in my ownership, before that it went about 15k between services (on long life). The gauze in the old pickup was about half blocked up, so wasn't on the verge of blocking completely but definitely worth doing.
