Bickerton's 2 year servicing offer

Featured Replies

Hi,

Has anyone ever used the Bickerton (sheffield) 2 year servicing offer before? (if indeed they have ever done it before?). Had an email come through about the offer for 299 which includes a 100 pound accessories/parts voucher.....which seems very cheap...so was wondering if anyone has used this (or similar) offer before and does it actually cover full service costs for 2 years or is it some kind of "basic" service. I phoned them today but the sales guy didn't really know much about it and said to give the service team a ring during the week.

Thanks

Chris

Depends on your situation. If your car is new and you had to wait so you are due the compensation, there's no point in doing this (as my dealer realised after he'd mentioned it) D'oh!

no this is for older cars - the offer is for up to 6 yrs/60k cars (wherever you bought it from....mine didn't come from Bickerton - I just signed up for their newsletter) - mine is an 08 fabia due it's first mot in march (has 23k on it).

I had taken this offer up on our Octavia vRS TDI and it's coming up to its first service using this offer so we'll see.

My dealer did sign me up to the same offer for my new Fabia vRS that I'm picking up Tuesday. He didn't mention anything about it being for used cars only and he was quick enough to take my payment for it. I hasten to add that it was the service desk manager that I spoke to and not my salesman, although I did make him aware that it was a new car when I asked him?

I wonder what happens if he realises he can't honour the offer then on my new car after he's taken the money for it?

For those of us still waiting is there any chance of you post further info or sending a Pm with some more information?

I don't think it's just for used....sounds like they have just extened it to used ones...

2 YEAR SERVICING FOR ONLY £299*

Now available to purchase on pre-owned vehicles up to 6 Years Old with up to 80,00 miles on the clock!! Agreements purchased before 31st January 2011 will also receive £100 Skoda Parts & Accessories vouchers back as a thank you from Bickerton Skoda.

It is a used car offer, you cannot take this offer up on a new car for the price of £299. There is a offer for new vehicles, but it's more money.

What I was told Saturday, is wait 90 days then apply for it as the car can then be covered. We wanted to pay the money there and then but the dealership couldn't actually do it !

Hmm... wonder what will happen with my new car then?

Going to make sure everything's hunky dory with Chris on service when I take delivery on Tuesday. As I say, they've taken payment for it already and Chris said he'd sort it out for me. Intriguing!

Recently taken something similar out on our Fabia II FL with a local dealer. £299 for 2 services; plugs filters and brake fluid. Also should receive a £100 accessories voucher.

Car had to be 3months to 4 years old with no more 80,000 miles at the start of the agreement.

TP

Its a Skoda UK promotion and as far as I know can be used at any dealership. Took it out on my old fabia from my brother paid for the 40K service and will be used for 50K service. Does seem good value but some things such as fuel filters etc are only replaced if necessary so assume it will be what service department decides has to be done.

I took this up with my dealer last Saturday and he says it's only for used cars.

He further said that I could take the offer when my new car is three months old, but by then the £100 voucher will no longer be available.

Right,oh!

Currently, if you are kept waiting (from order to delivery at the dealer) for more than 18 weeks you are entitled to £150, if 25 weeks then it rises to £300. This can be taken as either products or accessories, servicing or as an M&S giftcard.

I took mine as money towards future servicing so the 2 year deal for £299 (which I was offered) would be a complete waste of money.

Hope this helps

As of today I have been waiting 18 weeks - still not got the car. Where did this compensation info come from ??

John

This came from my local dealer - contact Skoda customer services for the current situation. If still in place, they will set up a case file and keep you informed of progress with your car.

Thanks "sassinak" , found the previous thread about this as well.

took the plunge and signed up today. I should get my voucher in 4 - 6 weeks according to Neil @ Bickerton - Question now is what do I treat my car to :wonder:

Just spoken to my dealer today about something else but asked if this servicing deal I'd bought has now been applied to my new car that I'm picking up later today.

He told me that it has indeed been applied, now that they have all the registration details etc to register it with.

So it seems that I've been able to get this servicing deal on a brand new car which means that my dealer is either pulling a few strings or that the deal can be applied to both new and used cars.

I don't know anyone else who's been able to get this deal on their new car as from all accounts it can only be applied to a used car? In any case I'm not complaining as it's a good deal

Nice one Scottpcs - so what will you spend your voucher on?

Well I'll actually have £200 of vouchers now as I took the same deal out on our Octavia at the last service!

I'm planning to hold onto them for now as they don't expire until December. Seeing as they can be used against service parts among everything else I'll see if I need them at service time, otherwise I'll have a peruse of the Skoda merchandise catalogue!

I might even buy some mudflaps for the new car or some rubber floormats for winter use. I may even use them as part-payment to buy some winter wheels for it if I can get some through Skoda.

Choices choices!

Ask your dealer for the Skoda brochure:-

"Financing, insuring and servicing your Skoda the easy peasey way."

This applies to new cars, and on page 14 is "Fixed-cost maintenance". This is a simple budget plan for your car's servicing, maintenance and ,if you want, its tyres.

This is administered by Skoda Finance and your dealer can give you a written quote based on your needs and annual mileage.

I took mine as money towards future servicing so the 2 year deal for £299 (which I was offered) would be a complete waste of money.

Why not use the £300 to buy the 2 year service package and get the £100 vouchers that they're giving for buying the package??!

Because unfortunately I only got £150 - I was 2 weeks out from £300
