VRS LE AUDIO HELP

Featured Replies

hiya,

ok, i have a blue vrs le.

i would like to add ipod control to my car but have had unsuccesful results when i fitted the xcarlink kit. (bad sound quality)

i dont really want to loose the cd changer under the seat but would like the ipod in the glove box and controlled from the head unit

i have been thinking about changing the head unit but im not sure which stereos will work with the skoda cd changer.

this is simular to the unit in my girlfreinds car which the ipod control works well but would this work with the cd changer

Is does say controller - cd changer? If it does not work is there a list of units that will work with the cd changer?

What items am i likerly to need when changing the unit other that the trim for the smaller stereo's (Fabia Dashboard Radio Surround 6Y0 857 231 B41 Satin Black)

Will i need a lead to adapt the cd changer lead to other units?

Thanks for your help, audio is not my think and im lost

iirc the CD changer is blaupunkt so you can fit in a blaupunkt headunit and plug in the blue CD changer lead into the back of the blaupunkt headunit.

Forget trying to connect any other headunit up to it, it's expensive for convertors etc and not worth the hassle. (Use a USB flash with a new headunit) much better then CDs!

I fitted in a double din pioneer http://caraudiosecur...gleproduct.html and looks pretty OEM.

This will do USB, MP3 players & iPhone... also bluetooth with additional control module.

The changer is made by panasonic, it has a blaupunkt connector for the headunit and thats where the similarity ends. You can plug it into a blaupunkt headunit but the changer will not be recognised (been there, done that). The only stereos that I am aware of that work the oem changer are VW, Seat and Skoda ones.
