Can you remove the chrome surround for repainting...

Featured Replies

Question's in the title. I'm thinking of having the surround painted black. The guy that's going to do it for me said he might take a few hours. So, I was thinking of leaving the surround with him and refitting the grill.

Is this possible and would it be legal?

Thanks,

J

I can't see why it would be illegal to run your car without what is effectively a bit of trim?

That's what I was thinking. I just wanted to check before doing it.

Cheers

Yeah, take grill off, take chrome out, then replace.

You've jogged my memory, I have a spare one which is being painted, must stick it up for sale actually...

The chrome comes out easy enough, just don't break the clips and make sure he sands it down well and uses the right primer...

I may have it depending on price. PM me :) Is it done in black magic?

It will be in black magic once I give it to them lol...
