Autoglym Super Resin Polish

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I was just reading up on Autoglym Super Resin Polish, and was just wondering the following:

-It claims to not be abrasive, is this true?

-If you use this on your car, is it the same sort of protection as using wax?

-Can you use this after every wash or is it damaging?

Also any other general opinions on the product are much appreciated.

Thank you.

Stu

i use this after every wash which is usually once every 2-3 weeks and up to now no damage, however i do apply wax after.

Have a read through this, it should help

Any reason why you wax every 2-3 weeks?

no not really just something to do i suppose, i like giving the old girl a good clean :giggle: can u over wax like?

No but it's a bit of a waste as the SRP will strip most of the the wax, once you've got 2 coats of wax on her then it should be good for at least 3 months. Normal car shampoo followed by a quick detailer is usually fine after she's all waxed up. What wax do you use?

meguiars cleaner wax, this cars the first one ive really bothered cleaning/waxing :giggle: at 6k i figured i should look after her

It IS mildly abrasive and as such I would not use it as often as that!!

Maybe twice a year after a claying, prior to wax and or sealant

so.... wash and detail every 3-4wks, autoglym super resin every 5-6months, and wax every 3 months? have i got it now :thumbup:

Depends how long the wax lasts really, I've not used the Megs Cleaner Wax so can't comment on durability.

You've not really tested it's durability as you've been polishing it off every fortnight :giggle:

When the beading stops then rewax. I clay mine twice a year to remove surface contaminants followed by polish and wax.

Thanks for the replies.

To avoid starting a separate thread, is there any opinions on Autoglym Aqua Wax?

Does seem decent stuff and a lot easier than manual wax.

Just to add my 2p here............. :yes:

1) AG SRP is slightly abrasive but it's more used as a filler to mask swirls and scratches hence why it's so popular;

2) Megs Cleaner Wax is really what is suggests, it also contains micro abrasives so will take some of the AG SRP you have put on off, this wax is really better to be used after claying and before applying a final wax or sealant;

3) Can't comment on AG AW but it seemed to perform well in the recent Auto Express review if you believe what you read.............. :wonder:

AG SRP does contain micro abrasive as it's a polish and the nature of any polish is to 'cut', whether it be heavy or light, I am afraid I haven't used the Megs system so can't comment but your using a polish over a polish aren't you?
