...standard shock absorbers and springs as the Ibiza FR TDI or Sport TDI?

Just wondering as I did think they were somehow different...

I would assume no as the weights are different. If I remember right the FR has stiffer springs/damper to the SPort TDI. The cupra has stiffer dampers, softer springs and vRS ARB.

I see... it seems to be suggested on cupranet by some that they are the same, but having said that my mate who had the TDI Sport insisted that he felt the Fabia vRS handled and rode much better than his TDI Sport...

A freind of mine has said the vRS handled/riode much better than his TDI Sport.

I now have eibach dampers fitted with the standard springs. Still rides very good and the body roll is much better controlled.

I had a test drive in a Ibiza FR 1.8T recently. The ride was so hard I was glad to get back in my old Citroen ZX. The vRS I drove was nowhere near as hard as far as I can remember.

Someone on seatcupra suggested getting uprated shock absorbers for the standard springs, said pretty much the same thing... I take it you are pleased with the result? Does it cure the diving nose under hard braking?

The same friend who had the TDI Sport traded it in for a 1.8T FR, and your right, the suspension in that really is rock hard. It handles pretty well to be fair, but I get the impression he's still not that happy with the ride...

I'm very pleased with the result. Also had the lower strut brace fitted at the same time which I also think helps alot. Turns in much more sharper. Not tired a hevy braking test yet.

The shock absorbers are the same... the springs aint

my invoice from banshee list the application for the eibach dampers as being for a fabia... and they were originally baught for a ibiza
