2008 octavia ii 1.9 tdi dsg

Hi All,

Has anyone out there had a problem with a ticking noise from behind dashboard,it can come on at anytime lasts for a few seconds then does not happen again for between one day to perhaps two months,I have had the car back to the main dealer many times over the past year ( this time for a week which they tested it over one hundred miles) but it did not happen,first thoughts was climate control settings but they ruled that out, up to now this has got them beat as to what the cause is.

I picked it up today and on going up a steep hill it came on again when the DSG box changed down a gear,also whilst the car was in neutral when I pressed the gear shift button it clicked behind dashboard,once back in drive mode it went off and did not come back again.
