Scalextric Fun

Featured Replies

:auto: Just got a scalextric sport digital set of course it was for my 3 year old boy, he did get a little go and done two laps before crashing off the track and into the wall. The lane change and lap time make it very good racing well worth the money even better when your brother goes half with you.

Bad experiences with scalectix's. When I was around 10 or so, I bought a kit for around

Got 3 sheets of 8x4 18mm mdf to build me a 3 lane track, to race my small collection of Fly and Pro-Slot cars, some standard and plenty modified :D .

I got the "Crash and Bang" Sport set, havent had it out in ages though.

Got these little beauties amongst others...

We have been looking at getting one of those. "Vincent vega" is my brother and its me that went halves on the very expensive (

Got a call from dad today (on a break in london) and he said Hamleys have got them in too for

You can also get an Octavia scalextric car, well it's made by SCX I think but it works with scalextric and its 4 wheel drive :D

The Cordies I have are made by SCX and yes they do work on Scalextric tracks.

Colin got the Fabia off E-Bay for

I'm a kid at heart.love these. checkin the argos catalogue there was a police pursuit one.....a ford focus police car and a lambo gallardo  who matched those two together???

I have just seen them on the WEB you can get a standard WRC Fabia or a limited edition one , both look the same to me. can anyone shed any light on the differences.

Ta

George

theres no difference between ltd and standard except the check in 2 extra thingymajigs, you know the bit that wears out, the wire strippy things,

oh yeah i got both the 14 and 15 car's ltd Ed for Xmas

hehehe

Lights 4wd magnets make them bloody quick compared to the old Maestro I had before

So you say they sell it as a limited edition model just because they stick an extra set of blades in the box. Erm are you sure? Does that mean when I sell my Vrs if I chuck an extra battery in the boot I can sell it as a Skoda Octavia Vrs Limited Edition!! Sounds good, I may try it.

George

oh and theres a ltd ed number sticker stuck underneath

it's seems to work out as an extra

Better axle bearings in the limited ones aswell as the extra contacts

Me too....

Heres my tuned babies..

The Porsche is a Pro-Slot, completely stripped and resprayed. Engine glued, and new ally pinion gear, new crown wheel(adjustable), new axle and brgs which are glued in, new wheels (ally) new tyres (WD40 prior to a race makes then very sticky for around 5/6 laps), and all bearings lubed with silicon oil.

The Viper is a Fly and a real beaut. Front mounted engine, glued in place. New prop shaft, shaft brgs (glued in place) and pinion gear, new crown wheel (fully adjustable), new front and rear axles and brgs which are glued in place, new wheels (ally) and tyres. It also has around 25 grams of lead ballast to keep the car on the track and keep the back end down.

This car handles like a rear wheel drive car with the front mounted engine.

Both are seriously quick, but only qualify for "modded" racing..I wonder why? ;)

I have other standard and non modded cars I use, but these are the maddest.

OMG where did you get that!!! That's absolutely superb (pardon the pun).
