Connecting iphone to Stream

Featured Replies

I tried posting in the ICE section but got no response so I'll try here instead.

I would like to setup my stream mp3 like in this video.

From there I would like to add my iphone with this. Would this setup work and would I be able to get an in car charger with a usb port in one end for the charging part of the cable? I have seen threads where you can connect an ipod but none for an iphone.

My friend has a MY56 A4, it has an Aux port built in for an ipod which works fine, but when an iphone is connected it says it's not compatible or similar?

Does the message say "This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone" or "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone"? These warnings get displayed for iPod accessories that haven't been designed specifically for the iPhone*. If you dismiss the warning it should work fine - the worst that should happen is that you might some interference from the iPhone.

* Designed for iPhone means that the manufacturer has paid Apple even more money and been allowed to tell the iPhone that they have paid this extra money.

He says the Audi HU says "not supported".

I wonder if a Connects2 would support the iPhone? If it did, that would allow you some iPhone on the headunit and allow charging. It replaces your external CD changer (if fitted) as it uses that connection on the back of the headunit.

But if I wanted to keep CD changer as well AUX port would be good option.
