Found another problem - Boost leak / Leak(s)

Featured Replies

Hey again!

Lots of you have probably seen all the threads I have going on various problems...

Well there's ANOTHER.

Basically, on the Hose From the Throttle Body that goes toward the Intercooler, before the 'Sensor looking thing?'

Its been Cut, and had a Metal Bit put in there, with a Hose off, thats been blocked up.

Anyway, its leaking boost there, does anyone have the Part number for this Hose, or another Option so that I can make one up or something?

ALSO, this one I don't think is such a problem, But on the right hand end of the Inlet Manifold (When looking at the engine), is a Threaded Hole - Is this supposed to be there? It looks like approx an M6.

Apart from my Lambda being gone there's no Massive performance loss, I'm more curious as to why the holes actually there and threaded - Is this Likely to have been used for a Boost guage?

Thanks

David

The threaded bit on the inlet don't worry about it they all have them. Not sure why tho?

As for the TB to intercooler hose, Sounds like someone has had a cold side relocation fitted for the dv at some point and when removed they've just blanked it off, if you have the cash get a silicone boost hose kit or if not look in the for sale section as there's some cars being broken and you may find what you need cheaper than buying new.

intercooler to throttle body

Weird about the inlet thing, but obviously isn't a problem else i'd have a massive boost problem i suppose.

On revving, I can hear the join i've mentioned above leaking slightly, so i'll get another pipe if possible.

I've also noticed, that Pipe goes to some sensor thing, then to the intercooler / Something like that anyway, its all Dirty down there with the Wheel off so i'll probably check / repair the join there too..

New Lambda This week too so she's gonna be like a New car by the weekend hopefully!

intercooler to throttle body

PM'd bud

That sensor is the map sensor for the intercooler, if the pipes leaking that bad that could be the cause of your issues. So get it changed asap

as per pm take a pic of the area for me to see as what you desribe sounds odd

Ah right so it is a sensor and should be there then...

Its too dark for a picture now anyway, i'll try get one uploaded tomorrow though.

If the pipes leaking, I doubt thats likely to throw up a Fault code for the Lambda sensor though is it?

I Bloody hope not, as i've ordered one!

Just need the pipe to try it I suppose...

you running a decat??? if so what lamda are you replacing???

Yeah De-catted.

First Lambda the 5 Wire one has Gone.

P0130 keeps coming up and it runs like **** - Been conking out all night on me!

I Occasionally get a Fault code for the Second Lambda / Emissions, but thats normal anyway due to De-cat - I'm hoping it doesn't even come on once she's all running right, i know some that don't come on!

the little hole on the inlet is for a bracket for 1.8ts with cables throttles

Ah right, so nothing to worry about then.

Worst case i was just gonna stick a bolt in there anyway!
