I have a SM 2.0TDI DSG ordered since early December . I emailed the dealer today and he said my current build week is 11 . He also said that the build weeks have been jumping all over the place. He said that the closer it gets to date the date will firm up and maybe come forward. That doesnt sound too bad to me

Hello. It all depends on the engine (diesels allegedly as rare as hens' teeth now), options, etc. - and build week is not confirmed more than 4 weeks ahead so in effect your dealer is right: build week 11 is pretty meaningless at the moment.

As you are in Ireland that may be the case. Over here in little 'ole UK we're looking at 6-7 months :-( and there would appear to be a diesel shortage as well.

It's going great, but for most of the time I'm dawdling around South London, and you can't open her up much. When I do venture out onto the open road or motorway, well, what can I say...

This latest DSG is sooooo much better than my the DSG in my old old Octavia.

I'm planning on going to the local RR day at the end of the month. I will then see what she is really doing, if they can get the DSG & 4x4 to work on their 4WD RR. They have had some problems in the past, due to rear wheels not turning on DSG cars, but as Elsie is permanent 4x4, should be OK. We will see.
