Fabia vRS Lowering

Featured Replies

Hello guys. It's been a while. I'm in a bit of a debate with myself and can't make my mind up.

Basically I want to lower my 2004 Fabia vRS, I'm not sure whether to go with budget Coilovers or decent Springs. Trouble is I'd like to lower my car about 45mm but haven't found springs that can do this. Found some TA technix and JOM coilovers on eBay for around £200

Any advice is much appreciated, I have faith in your knowledge ;)

P.s. Anyone selling any second hand and willing to post or I will pick-up from South-East region

eibach springs are suppose to be quite good but only lower about 30mm, heard weitec coliovers are good but expensive but will probably go down more than 45mm

Thanks dude i'm half and half on buying new springs, i'm on 100k afaik my car was a rep car for 70k miles so a lot of motorway usage. I know I should change shocks as well as springs.

Anyone know of any good shocks the Eibach springs work with? I'd like to go about 40mm lower but on budget

My recomendations would be to carry on saving and get something decent

Cheap ones will be cheap for a reason

I know the AP coilovers are good , and good quality , but a bit cheaper

They are made for KW , so you know it is good

Worth the extra ;)

I have AP Coilovers, they ride really well, sporty but not too firm it breaks your back.

They were about £350 - £400 iirc.

Springs are ok but not my bag really.

Thanks Sarah, any discount available? :p I'll probably take a set of these if i can't cancel the insurance I took out yesterday, I took it out as a pay monthly then found out I could get multicar insurance at a total of £500 for the year, if I can't I'll be ordering them.

Thank you mate I've spent literally hours on the forums this morning looking for good springs/coilovers, I'm gonna have to stop being a stinge and treat my car to new legs as it's doing me proud ;) mines gonna be a real head turner when I'm done. Simple and clean but stunning ;)

My weitec's are good except I kinda just broke them a little. They go lower than youll ever want to go...

Is there anything you havent bust?

Is there anything you havent bust?

In a word... No, Im never the lucky one everything goes wrong unless I leave it alone or dont mod it... luckily this time its only the adjuster on the front right shock.... Why Plastic? ill never know but a few slots where the spanner slots in have snapped :(

My advice would be NOT to get cheap coilovers.. I had a set of Ta Technix on my car, and they lasted six days before I could deal with them anymore!

So they have now been sold, and I'm waiting on some weitecs in the post!

TA Technix are **** though lol :)

AP are a reputable make, KW owns them and Weitec, cheaper like a Skoda is cheaper than an Audi.

On a side note, mine have metal adjusting plates so weird the Weitecs have plastic?

I've been sorted out some springs should be receiving them from a member next Sunday at the RR day :) top geezer ;)

I spent my saturday fitting a set of H&R springs to my vRS. I got them from DPM and Im over the moon with them! I steered clear of coilovers because of the roads i drive to work. 30mm drop but doesnt sacrafice comfort!

Can you post up a pic showing what the drop looks like.

I've also got some 30mm springs on the way. Eibach ones though. I'm not expecting to be disappointed :)
