Sensitivity of Yeti alarm system

Featured Replies

Blo**y Hell! LV (my current insurers) have quoted me £520+. Have a quote from the Co-op, and also from Skoda, in the region of £480. I'm 55, so not a high risk youngster, but I suppose my W.Yorks (rather than N.Yorks or Shropshire) postcode might be a factor. Think I'll have a chat with SAGA (which my grandmother - who used to go on SAGA holidays - advises me stands for 'Sex And Games for the Aged' :D ).

I was pleasantly surprised at this quote myself. I've been with LV for just one year previously, so maybe keen to keep me? (Plus NYorks postcode and decrepitude of 61 years old, perhaps).

I've only been with LV for 2 years. Oodles of 'no claims', no convictions ... am I really double the risk based just on 6 years age difference and 40 miles further south and west?

I got this level of cover plus comprehensive cover in Europe for up to 180 days a year for £235 from Liverpool Victoria.

Also forgot to mention that the policy includes Vandalism cover (does not effect NCD), Unlimited cover in the EU, Up to £2000 Personal belongings in car, 2 Years New for Old Cover, Full Business use for me and the Missus and Emergency Accommodation.

Chuffin' 'eck, as they say up here. Sooner I end my exile in West Yorks and return home to civilisation in North Norfolk the better. Checked LV, Saga, Skoda's own and a couple of others. Best quote I got (which I've now taken) was just under £480 from the Co-op. Others were all in pretty much the same territory, £20 either side of £500.

Is there a security alarm system on the Yeti outdoor  2014/15 models or is this an extra you have to purchase.

Yes & no.

The specification varies between countries so you'd have to consult your own country Skoda.
