Trying to find out if anyone who has fitted aftermarket HIDs to the Octavia has had any problems with either the kit itself, or other components on the car.

I have not found anything on the internet for Octavias, but plenty of Audi A3 owners have had blown wiper motors (probably due to the design of the wiring and earthing point of the wiper motor).

The ballasts usually have a metal back and are supplied with metal mounting brackets. What they don't normally tell you is the bracket provides earthing as well as a way to mount them.

You are correct in that the wiper motor and headlights share a common earth point.

ive got hid conversion on my octavia not had any issues as yet were simple enough to fit aswell

As per earlier PM I've fitted them to two FL's. Not heard of any problems with them.

Really I want to hear of problems, as opposed to those that are working without a problem.
