Hi all, my 2007 petrol vrs is due it's second service at 22k miles any recommendations

On a good independent for service and cambelt change? What should I expect to pay?

Hello mate, I've not had any recent experience, but have used Lion Garage in the past (over 10 years ago). They are an independent VAG specialist with sites in and around Leicester. They've expanded since I used them so they must be doing alright for themselves. Their website is www.liongarage.co.uk

I'm considering using either these guys or a 'recommended' independent for my 07 vrs when service time comes around, so I would be interested in where you decide to go, costs etc.

If you can consider the south of the county, then two recommendations in and around Harborough. Prothero's on 01858465511, an ex VW garage so seem to have good product knowlwdge but charge not much less than skoda dealer (last time I used one - 10 years or so) I currently use Lol Morris, a true independant works on anything but always seems to have a fairfew VAG cars around. If I remember from last year, a full service plus cam belt, pump and idler was about £400) Out near Gartree Prison 1858885552

Did You try to ask in Skoda Farmers ?

Are You based in Leicester ? Any meet ?

I personally wouldn't touch Farmers for servicing.

I replaced the cam belt on mine, they had done it previously with the previous owner, and the tensioner wasn't installed correctly - the belt was on max tension!!!
