whats an egr delete?

Featured Replies

Just getting to terms with all these mods :giggle: so wondering whats needed and how much? plus upsides and downsides

Replaces your EGR valve & anti shudder valve unit with a straight pipe.

Upside - no recirculated exhaust gases cacking up your EGR and inlet manifold. Clean air only all the time. Better breathing + clean air = more reliable, better power.

Downside - car will need EGR mapping out to prevent engine light coming on. Slight extra shudder on stopping car (hasn't bothered me in several years) and "potential" for engine runaway in the event of turbo failure, which anti shudder valve would stop. Not personally heard of a runaway PD engine yet.

Cost of part alone is about £50-£70 depending on where you go / who you use.

It is exactly what it says it is :) it DELETES the EGR (Exhaust gas re-circulation) valve
