replacing dmf

Featured Replies

As the title suggests, i've just been told that my dmf needs replacing.

Thankfully, this SHOULD be done under warrenty (will find out this morning!) and i was just wondering if there are any associated parts that would be best replacing at the same time.

E.G - will a failing dmf cause damage to the clutch?

Many thanks in advanced

Jay

As its being done under warranty, Skoda will only replace parts that are faulty now, so if you insist on a new clutch, you will have to pay for it.

While your there you might aswell replace clutch and release bearing

Tis quite expensive on a vrs tho

For the sake of the £150 ish the clutch is I'd get one of them put in too.

Thanks for the reply guys.

the car was bought from Lancaster Volvo in Reading, so i'm guessing the repairs will be done by them, hence trying to find an angle to make them replace the clutch at the same time if i could convince them that the failing dmf could have damaged the clutch.

the car's on 70k so will very much consider paying for a new clutch anyway as there is a distinct possibility of a remap sometime later this year
