With regards the sound quality if you turn up both the phone volume and the Aux level - it's fine, in fact it's quite good using my Desire. Not sure if it's amplified (I suspect not) but there is no loss of sound quality at all - don't forget that this is not some esoteric stereo system in perfect household conditions - it's fitted into a car with road, engine and other noise that all go to reduce the quality.

as I said in my post, worked fine for next to no cost. I just happen to have already had access to a Parrot kit
