Confusion about water on boot rubber and soaking wet strap..(pics included)

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I noticed that the strap is soaking wet in the trunk....

and as you can see there is some water sitting on the rubber directly where the strap meets the rubber.

The rear boot is not soaked and the rear jet washer works perfectly fine :wonder:

When you close the boot lid the strap can sometimes get caught between the rubber seals. If it gets wet the water soaks into the strap and up into the thus making the seals wet.

HTH.

I agree.

Look at the markings left on the plastic of your boot lid where you can see the strap was stuck! 1st picture.

I'll look to shorten the strap somehow... :giggle:

Or turn it around so it flaps the other way or velcro it out of the way when shutting the boot... :)
