About 35 miles in my case - to Darlington. That is the quickest, although Colne is probably slightly nearer in mileage terms.

4 miles from work. Very convenient as closest to home is 25 miles.

About 150 miles (no joke). I've never actually taken the car there though.

14 miles away from home and 2 miles from work but they are poor; I'd have bought a used Fabia TDI Bohemia Estate if the salesman could muster some enthusiasm to make a commission - instead bought another A2. Also, judging by a friend who took their Octavia there for some warranty work, hopeless when it comes to aftersales too so I wouldn't use them! Ideal for looking at SM's though.

Have emailed the omnipresent dealer on here, but no response back yet so might have to look at alternatives who are interested in putting in a modicum of leg-work in order to get a sale.

Just about 2 miles, although they have yet to impress me ... asked for mudflaps when I bought the car and I still have to see them ... I've sort of given up.

They were great until they got our money!

They did offer us two free services though - so I'll see what they're like when we're due a service!

1.4 mile away from home, 2.4 mile from work

Unlike you townies, we country folk do not get the choice of marques and have to put up with what is available. My Nissan dealer went Dihatsu - probably a nice car - drove the Terios and did not like it.

Saw an advert for the Yeti (September 2009) thought "give it a try" and, if it were meant, found a dealer some 15 miles away. The rest is history.

I have always put service and support before make of car. So its often a compromise between available dealers and what they sell. For me, the Yeti came at exactly the right moment.

There is a lot of "nissan qashqai" in scottish borders but thats because there is a nissan garge at galashiels but it would be nice to see a skoda garage open in this area........................ SKODA the BORDERS needs YOU... :giggle:

I'm another living in the Wonderful Wilds of Wales and have never bothered to work out how far away the dealers are in miles, but know there isn't one within 90 minutes driving, where there is 3, and within 2 hours at least another 5.

I chose Faintree of Bridgnorth because they are within 90 minutes of home and about 20 minutes from work, plus I know the owner from my days with the Skoda Rally Team, and if I do take the car there I can legitimally spend the waiting time at the Severn Valley Station!

Got mine from Carlisle too - ordered just before Christmas from dear Deborah. Only about 8 miles away

15 mins at most - both North and South (Bedford and Letchworth) - both are Progress Skoda and I have found them to be very good and I have had no problems. I would say I was lucky to get an outstanding deal, and instant availability, with The Beasty. That said, there is a different definition and level of relationship from our friend James, but he is not local!

Progress are shortly opening a branch in Northampton, if not there already. I must say, having a decent local dealer/service facility does figure quite large in my buying decision, brand-wise.

Swansea -Sinclair Skoda - well recommended by me - are 44 miles away over the hills to the west, and over the hills to the south we have Griffim Mill, 49 miles away. They are dealers for about six marques, and I think just too busy to try. Sinclair on the other hand made as much time available as was needed each time I've been.

To the east - Listers of Worcester 65 miles. Dunno any others........

Like Llanigraham, I measure distances in London in time, not miles.

My nearest dealer gave me a quote, and not a good one at that and is about 15mins away (1 1/2 miles approx.).

There is another about 20 mins away (about 5 miles guess).

And then there is James.........about 25-30 mins drive, about 10 miles.

Mike

My closest is about 6 miles, but chose to deal with James at Allams, about 140 miles.

Andy

7 miles Bristol central, 9 miles Bristol south west, 20 miles Bath (where I go for service, within walking distance of mother-in-law) and 125 miles from Allams in Epsom where I bought the Yeti.

Why go to Epsom? None of the local dealers (and a couple of other more distant ones) were interested once I said I wanted a 1.2 DSG subject to a satisfactory test drive. No follow up, in some cases no response at all.

James Rothwell contacted me as soon as he could get a 1.2 DSG on demo and he had the order a couple of days later.

From my home adress;

To the south 15miles approx Royce Roberts (supplied wifes Fabia II); been generally happy with their service so far.

To the north 25 miles approx Chapmans Pickering (supplied son's Fabia I) sales appear good but service has been patchy which swung our decision to try Roberts for the wife's car; both were equally as competitive on price.

To the west 35 miles approx D M Keith York (was Martyn Beevers) bought the Monster from here before the takeover, excellent service until then. Not used since the new proprietors tried to heavily rip us off on their price quote for the Fabia II.

Me too! Nearest dealer is Dumfries but got our monster from Carlisle. Ordered in April 2010, collected in June. They've always been good, both sales and service and I work round the corner! We stay near Eskdalemuir.

I'll have to have words with Rachel about those biccies. She must have hidden them when we were in! :wonder:

Nearest garage is around 5 miles/10-15 minutes away in Rainworth. Happy with them so far.

Nearest dealer is in a small village 20 miles west from home and work= would have worries about using for servicing as nothing to do near the dealership. Next nearest are 50+ miles north and south. North dealer hasnt had good reports on this site, South dealer looks ok so when new lease car delivered in April I will be signing up with lease company for 100 mile round trip for servicing

Nearest dealer is about 10 miles away. They are next door to a Peugeot dealer and share the servicing staff. I last used them to service my old Octavia and whilst they did a decent enough job they weren't that cheap and I was pretty p'''d off to find out that a Peugeot trained technician did the job.

I am much happier with my stand alone dealer down at sunny Clacton, even though they are about 15 miles away. They don't mess about with any other makes and do a reasonably priced and efficient job on my wife's Roomster. They supplied my Yeti and will be serving it in a couple of months time. The main thing is that they are a cheerful bunch who seem to know their Skodas really well.

I'll have to have words with Rachel about those biccies. She must have hidden them when we were in! :wonder:

Deborah was not very forthcoming either - will have words next time I'm in.
