Your Nearest Skoda Garage.

Featured Replies

My nearest Skoda dealer is Møller Bil Rud, It's about 500 meters away from where I live, and It's a GREAT place to both buy and repair your car  I might be biased as I work there, but according to customer feedback, I'm not alone B)B)

i do feel sorry for all you chaps in the wilds of wales and the highlands for having to travel so far to get the car and service you want, but on the bright side, you do have b e a u tiful views on those journeys so i guess it balances out ?

for me it's a 10 mile trip to palmers in watford.

the yeti is my 2nd car from them and i've always found them to be friendly and helpful and they seem to know what they're doing.

Ah but how long is your journey time and how much traffic do you meet?

Hi,

My nearest dealer is in Oxford, however I know them from old when they held a different franchise.

Recommended to Grey Gables. Sam and his lads are really good, not forgetting Mrs Sam and the pooch.

Round trip only 32 miles plus shopping in Witney and lunch at Burford Garden Centre, making it a good day out.

Not forgetting the latest 'wants' from Screwfix

Chris.

Freshachre

Just wondering - have you tried Newport at all?? Or do you know what they are like?

Cheers

No, never ventured in that direction!

I found Grifin Mill pleasant - threw me the keys to their Yeti and let me disappear in it - but I found them remote and distracted, and in terms of negotiating, well, not really focussed on me as a customer.

Sinclair Skoda on the other hand were almost textbook in terms of customer care, in both sales and service after. I really could not fault them. Perhaps it helps that their Sales Manager is also the general Manager of the Skoda dealership, and that they are a solo Skoda garage. Whatever - personally I feel that it would be worthwhile taking the extra miles to go and see them. (Reading the dealer part of Briskda, and other peope's comments, corroborates my own observations.)

Apologies for wittering on!!!

At home I have 2 dealers, and they are both simillar distances of around 8 miles or so. In Herts where my parents live I have a single dealer, and thats progress in Letchworth where my superb came from.

Closest dealer is 8 miles (12 mins) away in Doncaster. I had a test drive there and they just gave me the keys and let me drive off for an hour or so. Took my internet quote to them and asked them to try and get near it as I wanted a relationship with a dealership but they wouldn't even suggest any numbers to me.

Next closest is Bickerton Skoda in Sheffield 17 miles (25 mins ) away. I bought a set of rubber mats, iPod cable and ashtray from them for a decent price. They asked for my e-mail address and now send me special offers. I would probably go to them for servicing.

The Doncaster garage you mentioned is less than a mile from my workplace, they would only give £2/300 off list when looking on Dec 31st.

I phoned D M Keith at Wakefield (15 miles from home)who matched the DrivetheDeal price and they now have my order.

normally takes about 1/2 hr but rush hour can add another 1/4hr

Nearest Skoda dealer to me is about 1.5 miles (after they moved across town).

I drive past them, though, and instead go to the best Skoda dealer who are about 12 miles away :)

Citygate of Colindale - NW London - 7 miles from me. Very obliging they have been too.

Cheers for the reply. I'll have to look at the dealer section of the site. Only just picked up the Yeti so time enough to do my reasearch!!

I only discovered the delaer section of this site, which I would recommend all potential buyers to have a look at, recently. As with all feedback of its kind, you do tend to get people posting who have been either very pleased with a dealership, or who felt very let down by something - in other words, not much middle ground. But at least posts set the parameters of good and bad, as it were, and the balance of one against the other is always interesting. If I had read the posts before doing my SM deal, there is certainly one other dealer (nearer to me in miles than the one I used, but a bit further away timewise) that I would have visited.

I posted a long piece on my dealership over the weekend, in the hope of encouraging others to go into significant detail that would help other buyers, rather than just writing vague praise or out and out rants (you can't keep a former teacher down!).

I use White Dove in Cardiff, 1/2 mile from my office service seems ok so far but will let you know.

Ok cheers. My neighbours who have a fabia go to Newport and seem happy. At least we have choice of where to go here in Cardiff!!

Very interesting. I wanted to do a deal with D M Keith Huddersfield as they were my nearest garage and the sales chap Neil was great but they were not prepared to match a price from another dealer which was a few hundred more than Drive The Deal. Looks like a trip into Lancashire!! (Claybank)half an hour away on the M62 traffic permitting. I am a great one to support my local gunfighter but as the largest dealer in the UK you would have expected them to compete.Obviously trying to fill their boots with the long lead times.Dissapointing.

Mate of mine had a similar experience when trying to order a Superb.

See my post under "Eleventh hour deal".At the time I didn't name the dealer.

After months of pondering over buying a Yeti, took the plunge today and paid the deposit on a 1.2 dsg.

I had heard that Skoda were raising prices as well as the vat increase.I phoned one local dealer to obtain a price without part exchange and was quoted £200/£300 off list price if signing up todayTotal saving £800 on the new list price.

I had also been following DrivetheDeal pricing and had seen their price drop from £2200 a few months ago to £1900 yesterday to £1800 today(old prices).I then phoned another dealer who said, what has he got to do get my business, I gave him the DTD price.About 15 mins later he phoned back and matched DTD price.

When to the dealers later today to sign.

My spec,

1.2 dsg Elegance in cappucino with gobi sand.

heated windscreen

temp spare wheel

tyre pressure monitor.

Since added at the old prices, Park assist, silver rails and annapurna wheels+changed colour to Rosso Brunello...........still not sure if that colour is right for the Yeti.

Build week 9.

After months of pondering over buying a Yeti, Build week 9.

Hmm! Aren't we in build week 6 now? If so, that would make build week 9 definite (build weeks are fixed 4 weeks beforehand). Do you trust this dealer? Would you still be able to change the spec if the build was already fixed?

I'm genuinely amazed at that as DMK Huddersfield would not even discuss matching internet prices when I contacted them.

DMK hudds are my nearest, about 1.2 miles from home. Lightcliffe service centre is about .5 of a mile from work.

That's exactly the attitude I've had from them. I think the problem is the business manager/sales controller (such an important man he has two job titles) who seems to be of the opinion that the deal must suit him and then he'll do his best to cajole/bully you into agreeing a deal.

I previously posted my experiences under their thread on the dealer section. What I omitted to say was that after I had told Head office what I thought, she suggested that I could have tried one of their other sites.....

Sales gave me until 10th January to adjust the final spec .Later I was sent a screen shot of the actual order(in google documents-unable to post on forum, any tips?)showing build date 201109.Yes I do trust the dealer.

Sorry - thought 'today' was today not the end of last December. Must learn to read more carefully.
