Fabia Automatic - Starting problem - Can anyone help??

Featured Replies

A client of mine has a 2002 Skoda Fabia 1.4 Auto Estate and has intermittent starting problems ie - Turns ignition key and no start, tries and tries again and starts eventually!

Is this a known problem and if so what is the cure?

Sorry, have not searched but all replies will be appreciated, many thanks.

Have you told him it has to be in Park or Neutral and your foot on the brake?

Yes it is, if the automatic is on neutral, that's the only way to get it started from that gear :D

Thanks to all for the input.

BTW - my client is a Viscountess!

I've driven her car and have got to say that the Fabia is a cracker!

It's going back into Welham Green Skoda again next week. I'll go along too and try and get them to get their act together. It's been in 3 times for the same problem now, not good.

My VW Transporter does the same thing from time to time, so I remove key from ignition, stamp on brake pedal, reinsert key and turn..hopefully it then goes as per normal.
