Have just been offered a set of tyres 235/45/17 zr.

I know usual on Vrs Octy is 225/45/17 as per VWs

So big question is will they physically fit spider alloys? Aware rolling radius will be slightly increased.

235's won't fit mate. 225 are the max.

205 50 17 are the std on spiders mate, the 225 45 17 are the cheaper alternative that a lot go for. 225 45 are the closest alternative but a fraction smaller.

Thanks guys . found info on Toyo website that shows recommended rim size for each tyre.

8J is optimal but will fit 7.5J minimum.

However found out tyres are actually 235/40/18 !

So would need new wheels. to fit the tyres.
