Original Ecu Chip From Rs For Regular 1.8t

Featured Replies

Ok, let me ask you this. Many of you has replace the original ECU chip from your Octavia RS and put a new one to get more power.

Can I buy from any of you this Factory ECU RS chip and install it on my regular 150HP Octavia 1.8T ????

Do I going to gain something??? Do this RS chip would work with my AGU code engine???

Or I have to get a taylored chip specially for my AGU engine.

Also, my car has automatic transmision. Has any of you has a Automatic 1.8T with a chip?

My dealer say if I put a chip my guarante will void

Looks like I'm in the same boat - 1.8T auto, and Skoda UK say that any sort of chipping or remapping will void the warranty.

I've got another year left on the warranty, so I might think about getting it remapped in six to nine months time (or, of course, I might just trade it in for an RS)

Watch this space :)

;)

not sure if a chip from and RS would work on another model?

better off with a tuners chip... only invalidates the warranty if they can find it...

And what could be more unobtrusive than a manufacturers chip? :D

or more poorly mapped?

nearly as good as the stock ic location.

So get a front mount :D

only when i canget one that doesnt look gay..

need one that requires a veilside bumper with similar surface area to wales..

How old is your 1.8T? Most Rs's IIRC are drive by wire where as only the newer 1.8T's have upgraded from old fashioned ;) throttle cable control.

My Car is 2002 AGU 150HP engine but DONT have V V T and dont have Drive by Wire:mad:

At the dealer they toll me they dont bring the more advance engine because is Ecotec 4 and this engine require a minimun of 98 octanage fuel to work ok. Here in Panama we only carry 91 and 95 and I really dont know if this is RON spec or MON Spec.

Isaac

Mmmm, perhaps we should take a holiday in panama and remap your car whilst we're there:D

Ah, you won't be wanting my chip then, as I'm VVT and drive by wire.

Also had another thought about it...

Won't it have all my settings in it, such as key/immobiliser codes, engine codes, workshop codes etc

Don't know how that would marry up to yours :(

Hey TaviaRS, thank you for you offer, But its look like is not going to work

Hey Disco@Impreziv, I will talk with a bunch of Skoda guys here so it will worth your trip to Panama to REMAP several at the same time :D

For your info, I talk today with the Skoda Dealer and they decide they will bring a RS to Panama BUT They and the Skoda factory will not give guarantee to the suspension parts because in Panama the roads are very bad.

They only order the RS by speciall request and the customer has to put a partial payment.

Is look like they already find a victim or afortunate that has put a down payment.

They promess me they will give me a test drive when this car arrive to Panama:D

They have to! I have been a very loyal and good customer. My Wife also have a Skoda Octavia , My Cousin has a Octavia and 2 day ago my best friend bouht a Skoda Octavia 1.8T 150HP

sounds like you guys really like Octavia's...

well done! you will love the vRS

Isaac, you would love the 4X4 as well - and it has a heavy duty suspension and considerably greater ground clearance than the vRS! :D

Yeah, I too reckon the 4x4 would be better suited to your roads.

just make sure the dealer has a good stock of new front valence's
