i have defo started a debate here! lol. ill try some more runs when i can. if any of ya know the wigan area, i usually do it down the 2 mile stretch late on when there is nothing on the road then turn round on winstanly collage and do it again in the other direction. before anyone makes a comment about law breaking its a national speed limit road which is arrow straight for a good mile.

I'll keep an eye out for ya when I'm working nights buddy... ;)

My old 1/4 time with 165bhp on a Custom Code remap

1/4 Time = 14.736 @ 93.13mph -

R/T .. 60 Foot .. 330 Foot .. 1/8 Mile .. 1/8 MPH .. 1000 FT .. 1/4 Mile .. 1/4 MPH

0.000 . 2.265 .... 6.173 ...... 9.460 .... 75.370 .... 12.242 .... 14.736 ... 93.130

Id say that isnt a 6.1 to 60mph.

I reckon thats closer to a high end 6. You wont get better on JUST remap IMHO.

is that not on a tdi sport ibiza?

my friend has one rr'd at 155bhp and i had a vrs rr'd at 173bhp on the same rolling road, and his at 155bhp used to pull away from mine (ever so slightly - you could possibly call it even) so they're could be a weight issue there?

don't ask me how or why

Well its a on a Ibiza FR TDi yes, same everything as a 05 plate+ vRS minus about 25KG's of weight due to being a 3dr model but having the climate control in.

Id honestly be annoyed if a car with nearly 20hp less than you (assume thats a standard yet high figure) can get away from a mapped version, the weight difference wont be anything depending on fuel loads, driver weight and the rest of the fluids.

Did the cars get RR'd on the same day?

Depending on the age of your car and his, the gear box ratio's could also be different which play a part against what ever speeds you were 'testing' ;) out the cars.

Yes i had the newer ratios

His is a 52 with 130k mines was an 04 with 50k miles

Wasnt aware 04 plate vRS ran the different ratio's guess they changed over when the FR was reaised in 2004 aswell then.

It all plays apart. If you were further up the speedo too, as thats where IMHO the sport box is better over the FR box. I have to change into 5th to stay in my power band over a 1/4 or leave it in 4th and rev it out. Whilst my mate, with a sport goes across the line right on the sweet spot of 4th gear with his ratio's.

Only the very first vrs's on 53 plates had the older longer box
