oh my god! did a 6.1!

Featured Replies

got a gtec performace meter last summer, did some 0 to 60 runs and the best i got was a 6.9. because it was summer the weather was pritty hot. i put it away and never thought much about it ill i came across it yesterday. thought id give it another go and see how much of a difference the cold wather would make. couldnt believe it! was regularly gettin 6.2 then i went and did a 6.1!!! took a pic with my phone. if only i knew how to get pics on here it post the proof. that proves how much cold air is benificial to good performance.

be very careful

some people on here will have you down as a " racer "

then they will be implying that you are a " chav "

personally i think that 6.1 is pretty good

Doubtful :p

Anyway - I did a 0.7 in the middle of summer in the Octavia.................it really is time they strengthened that fence at the top of Beachy Head

thats not bad for a diesel quicker than a corsa vxr and an astra :giggle:

and 60mph is inside NSL.

The issue with winter though is no traction. Assume you mullered 2nd gear? I have managed a 5.8, at GTI Inters.

6.1 seconds 0-60 in a remapped fabia?? thats class!

Yes but you have an extra hundred bhp on a mapped vrs

Yes mapped vrs's are quick but 6.1s i think not!

I have my doubts until I see pics but well done if it's true.

Once you break traction, it doesn't matter if you have 170 or 270hp. You're not getting to 60 any quicker. :D

I'm with Jase on this one. Just cant see it.

Maybe your calibration is slightly out? :S

anywhere from around 7-8s is more optimistic i'd say!

im sure when i had a g-tech with 173bhp (rr proven)

in the dry in cold air the best i got was mid to high 7's... i think? was 2007 though, wasn't too impressive whatever i got, even tried 2nd gear launches with a helix clutch and im pretty positive i never broke 7s

defo got a 6.1! ill get the pics up to prove it. just need a bit of time to sus it out. my dads got a avensis standerd, tryed it on his and the figures where simular to what it says in the book and it was the same with my uncles merc which was also standerd. all tested on same day.

Clearly, your extra 8bhp bought you a whole second off your 0-60 time compared to the best I ever got...

wheres the popcorn icon gone ?

Not many will believe you.

You need to prove it in some empirical way.

Would it make it quicker if the car was going downhill, with a strong tail wind lol ? :giggle:

si

Seriously? You are claiming pretty much a stage 3 time with a stage 1 Fabia. :S

do you realise how unbelievable that sounds?

maybe he is an awesome driver  lol

will be good to see the picture tho :)

make a vid and put it on youtube :)

did you launch in 2nd gear or 1st?

Damn - why has it taken me so long to suss this out?

Nowhere in the OP does it state whether it was referring to mph or kmh, and we've all been assuming it's mph.................... ;)

In which case, 6.1 is terrible!

I hope it's all legit, because that's a great result if it is.

That may be, but it's something an old duffer like me can aspire to :S

Just thought of something else for a bit of a laugh - if you change the emphasis and punctuation of the thread, you get..............

"Oh my, God did a 6.1"

:rofl::rofl:
