VRS LE washer fluid warning

Featured Replies

I know this has been discussed before but im struggling to pick through all of the previous threads to find an answer.

My 2005 elegance Octavia II used to warn on the maxidot when the washer fluid was low.

My 2009 LE just ran out today with no warning whatsoever.

My question is, does the VRS LE have a warning for the washer fluid or does it just simply let you run out?

Thanks

Nathan

It will let you run out unless you have xenons and headlight washers!

It just lets you run out, base spec with fancy bits as Simbo is always telling us! :giggle::thumbup:

Your Elegance had the low level warning as it had the headlight wash function. This also meant it had the larger reservoir.

As mentioned above cars equipped with xenon headlights get the feature too as it’s a legal requirement.

Xenon's were not on option on the LE so I'm afraid you'll just have to keep remembering to top them up.

A feature from 80's missing? Nasty.

Low washer fluid is only standard on high spec models (elegance, L&K or cars with xenon lights), the vRS (even LE) is not considered a high spec model so does not have the warning. You cannot enable it either, since the sensor and wiring are not present in the vRS. The standard vRS MK2 when released was only slightly better spec'c equipment wise than a base level Ambiente.

I had the level warning on my Fabia VRS mk1. However I always top up every week so it doesnt ever run out.

It is very simple:

Headlamp washers fitted - you have the larger reservoir and you have the warning light.

No headlamp washers - smaller reservoir and no warning light.
