new gearstick on VRS

Featured Replies

had a look at my mates new VRS the other day and noticed the near gearknob with black centre. It looks loads better than the chrome one so does anyone know the part number and cost?

Any pics of it? Not sure I know which one you mean.

nah, he only popped around for a mo. Ill try and meet up with him to get some. Its got a black plastic background with grey gear markings and the leather looks like a slightly different design.

Just surprised it's different from the one in your FL. Didn't know there was another option.

it seems when they changed the aerial from the long one to the short one they also changed the gearstick design. Just one of those annoyingt little tweaks they do when youve only had your car for four months!

How annoying! Well I can't find any details of it at the moment. I'm sure we can track it down though

It's the same shifter as in the new Superb - to be fair it may look better but the old one is more comfortable and more suited to quick gear changes because of the ergonomics!

And the aerial!! Need a short one for when the box is on the roof. Have an alloy stubby one but don't like to leave that on as i've had 2 nicked on previous cars...

Just noticed that superskoda also have a six-speed one listed under Superb II section.... wonder if that would fit onto Octavia..... looks smarter than the silver coloured plastic... Superskoda also have various different inserts to replace the silver plastic piece for Mk2 Octavia

It should fit. Can't help thinking you might get a better dealer on a direct dealer purchase on one though, seeing as it's a Skoda part. When you factor in postage etc.

Just a thought.

I'm very happy with my Audi knob. Much better ergonomically than the skoda item IMO. Only cost 30 quid..

I would go for the Audi one if I were you, they look and feel great.
