Clutch/brake bleed VRS?

Featured Replies

I am wanting to bleed/renew brake fluid in my 03 occy VRS. I am going to invest in a pressure bleeder as ill need this if i bleed the clutch?? I would like to know how/where i bleed the clutch? haven't done one before but have done brakes in the past using the pump pedal method and have loads of tools ect. Is it detremental to do clutch when doing the brakes? any advice much appreciated

You'll also need it to bleed the brakes as the pedal method can damage the seals

I used a Gunson Easibleed (Pressure bleeder) to do my brakes and clutch. I bought mine from Halfords and from memory it was about £25. I bled the clutch at the slave cylinder which is on top of the gearbox under the battery/air box. Was straight forward and took me about an hour to do both the brakes and the clutch. I bled the clutch straight after doing the brakes.

There are also two bleed nipples on the master cylinder. If you look below the brake fluid reservoir you should be able to spot them.

Is anyone able to confirm exactly what the bleed sequence is on the Octy? The Haynes manual gives two different orders dependant on which ABS pump you have fitted. Is there an easy way to tell as the diagrams aren't that clear IMO!
