Hooks/levels by headlights?

Featured Replies

OK, I give up. What do those hook type levers with the tabs do on the inner edges of the headlights? Are they to do with headlamp removal or to change the beam for driving on the continent?

Do you mean these (pre-facelift)?

Yes look similar but it is a facelift model.

Page 263 in the manual... :o

They are levers to release the headlight catch used to remove the headlights. They are incredibly stiff and will do nothing at all anyway until the large plastic nut at the rear of the headlight unit is undone.

From semi-painful experience (pre FL), a large zip-tie made into a loop is an excellent removal tool. A good squirt of WD40 on the mechanism before refitting the lamp assembly makes it much easier the next time...

Can get mine out in 30 seconds, I always remove them after washing the car , (can get into the nooks and crannies )
