SDi aux/fan/ribbed belt change

Featured Replies

Just need a real quicky reply. Wifes Fabia due to go in for MOT/Minor service in the morning and just noticed that the aux/fan/ribbed belt (what ever it's called) has little cracks in it and will need changing.

Is this a big job? I note the belt itself is only about £12 or so. What's involved in changing it? 1/2 hour labour? DIY job? Bit skint at the mo and son's birthday due too.

Would try the search but can't seem to find it on the new forum????

TIA

Nick

I would have thought it's not a big job to change that belt. I haven't had it done for a while so can't comment on price. It is the other belt (cam/toothed belt) that is the expensive and labour intensive one to do.

BTW, as the forum has just been updated and there are a few things that still need sorting out, so that's probably why the search is not working properly.

Thanks.

Also just found search thingy at the top. I'm sure I looked there earlier
