What Do I Buy?

Featured Replies

Hi guys im looking into getting a d.v for my octy 1.8t but which one do i buy??????

:)

I've got a Forge 007P on mine which does the job nicely. As long as you get a recirc type then you shouldn't get any running issues. Also the Forge is serviceable and I don't think the Baileys equivalent is.

Hey

Anyone on here will tell you the octy's VAG engine was designed to recirculate the unused air generated from the turbo, so best stick to a recirculating dump valve. Forge 007p Is the most popular at around 80 notes.

Much cheaper ones can be found on eBay, A VAG specialist reliably informed me that there is not really any difference between the one he advised me to buy and a Forge item except the Forge stamp on it (and maybe the type of grease that they use inside it??????)

See eBay well cheap and does the job. even fits under standard plastic engine cover unlike the Forge.

There is another option:

eBay link 2

A Forge Split-R which by reading most reviews on here is pretty poor, being sold on after a few months, and is the most expensive The choice is yours, entirely down to budget!

If your after noise, get an induction kit with the money you've saved on the dump valve!!!!!! (like me)

hope this helps

Comp brake a lot cheaper and just as good as the forge one

It comes with 2 springs if that's what you meant?

I found the one fitted to be the hardest out of the 2 so left that in and it's been fine on my remapped vrs :)

Erm, yes, I did mean springs but it came out valves for some reason... must be my age :smirk:

Recon i'll leave the spring in n see how it goes then.
